As a strings player myself, I like this a lot. I don't play violin, but the amount of detail that you managed to fit in the violin is just incredible. Well done
I wondered the same thing when she was making the guitar but violin terminology is more obscure than that of a guitar. I'd be surprised to find out she isn't a musician.
wowww so beautiful. Can you make a sink with stove for a doll house and maybe a toilet too. You are so talented I love your videos 😍😍😍😍 I can't wait for your next video
As a string player myself (viola, it's like a low violin) I can say this is very accurate! I love the little teeny-tiny details, especially the bow! The only thing that I could say is that there isn't a chin rest, but besides that, it's amazing! Keep up your awesome work.
Holly's Hobby Tree YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!¡!¡!¡!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Idk how I ended up here, or why I watched 3 videos already, but I like it. It would be so cool to have like a mini guitar center type shop/ displays for all of them!
The Square to Spare I got the notifications on In case you actually get the chance to do that 😁 if not, just keep doin what you’re doing, it’s awesome to see how accurate and detailed you can get these tiny instruments and things!
your work is amazing but the best part is that you actually looked after it, learnt about it and made a really lifelike violin(except the rest:)). i often see really horrible violin illustrations and miniatures and i'm so glad that there is someone who is not too lazy to make a proper one! congratulations and thank you!:)) (violinist here😄)
I get so happy when I get a notification from your channel ^-^ P.S. I was actually thinking of making a mini musical instrument for my music teacher, I think she will like it, and your tutorials are just great ^-^
For anyone planning to make this violin, I am sharing my experience of making a mini Guitar. It didn't turn out like the one in the video but it still looks pretty fantastic. here are the problems that I encountered:- 1. joining/pasting the popsicle sticks is really difficult. probably because the quality of my sticks was not good enough. 2. the sticks keep breaking 3. the coffee stirrers are not very flexible and they did not hold the shape. Ultimately I had to stuff the guitar body with clay. 4.making holes for the strings to pass is really difficult. And sticking on the tuning pins is also terrible! I have no idea, how she does it! 😄 I cut my hand a million times making this. Anybody who tries to make this, you already know what you might have to face. Be prepared! 😄
Yeah I tried soaking them for three days. Boiling them etc and they just break or don't get sharp enough curves to work. I'm using ribbon rather than rubber bands but it shouldn't make that much of a difference
Radhika Shrivastav, I know what you're talking about, I did the mini guitar as a gift for my boyfriend. She make's it look super easy (I think it's because she's so talented 🤗) but it was really (REALLY) hard... At the end the diy nightmare was worth it, because my boyfriend was fascinated.
That's why I said "FYI" (For Your Information)... But I'm so sorry for trying to be a friendly person, would you prefer that I be spiteful and condescending like you instead?
Precioso!..no hagas caso a las críticas...hay gente q solo le gusta ser y hacer infeliz a los demás...lindo tu violín, gracias por compartir tu trabajo e ideas!
Oh my word this is AMAZING!!! I was looking for ideas on how I could carve a keepsake viola from a block of bass wood for my nephew's graduation gift and happened upon your video. THIS IS SOOOO COOL!!!! It is definitely tricky and involved but with the steps you show I am super tempted to try it! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your talents!!!
Oh gee Cath, you are amazing. I feel like your brain must never shut down while thinking up new things for your channel. Now all I have to do is to try and make something instead of watching your videos. Another thing that I like is that you use paddle pop sticks which are so readily available for us novices to use. And if it doesn’t work out, it’s no big deal. You can start again and it hasn’t cost a lot of money. Your creations certainly don’t look cheap. Maybe there’s hope for me yet. Cheers Robyn ❤😊
That is absolutely beautiful! and something I think I can make for my 50yo daughter who's been really wanting a violin. (she has now) Thank you for sharing the how to!!!
It would be interesting to see an actual violin maker using real methods, just in miniature, to make one, and see how it compares to your miniature! This looks really pretty!
woahhhh I love it it's so damn precious we missed u cath u uploaded after too much time but I loved that how this wait turs out in an awesome fantastic result love u 😍😘😘🎻🎻🎻🎻
Your voice is angelic, so relaxing... Btw, your hands are beautiful... ❤ Thanks for this amazing tuts, can you make an electric guitar (dimebag's dean from hell guitar) to be exact, atleast around 10" tall pls... TIA! :)
Annoying to Cello players...if you know what I mean. If you don't, then search "Pachelbels canon Cello part" and you will know what I mean. Better yet, watch this vid. th-cam.com/video/xV1mZ1BjKa8/w-d-xo.html
Does she play violin? Because if not she really did her research! Bravo this looks great! Its incredible that people out there can figure out how to make things like this on their own, cause I know I couldn't.
In the process of making this right now. Warning to anyone who tries: - The middle of the violin with the delicately pointed ends is extremely difficult to get right. Went through two popsicle sticks trying to get it to have a delicate curve. - Make scores into the crevices and be delicate. If you manage to split along the grain of the wood your violin is toast, and cutting against the grain is a lot more difficult but much less risky. - Don't be discouraged if your coffee stirrer doesn't line up with the wooden top or bottom. THIS ISN'T A VIOLIN OR EVEN A VIOLA... THIS IS A CELLO. I know because there is no shoulder rest or chin rest. I play the cello, so I know what this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I GUESS it COULD be a bass, but the shape isn't correct, so it is a Cello.)
Ashwini Sendevahyuu Yes, she might pay attention to small details. However, she missed a HUGE detail which basically tells you its a violin and not a cello. She didn't make the chin rest! Without it, this mini 'violin' is a cello.
Wow! As a violin player, this was fun to watch! Maybe I'll even try to make one someday... Also, assuming you don't play the violin, I was happy to see that you knew what all the parts are called!
Did I know when I searched for "doll violin" that I would find this whole channel... Thank you so much for your work, it's so inspiring! And thank you especially for this particular video, my little violinist doll wouldn't be standing right now on my windowsill without your tutorial! (I'll post it on instagram and tag you of course, after I give it to my friend, don't want to spoil it.)
Oh no chin rest. I only noticed because my daughter played. I love the look. The stir sticks bend so well after sitting in the water what a great idea. Thanks for a great video.
This is so adorable!! it looks like a lot of fun to make too, maybe I'll try it! I'm a banjo player, so I'd like to see about making a mini banjo too, using the methods you've shown here and in your guitar vid c:
I've played the viola and violin since I was 7 years old😁I'm not saying that makes me an expert or anything but I'm very familiar with this instrument and how it looks and this is an excellent miniature, very realistic, and it makes me want to make one myself. Also I love the Pachelbel in the background, it brings back memories of middle school orchestra. Another awesome video!
Thumbs up if you think she should make a full music studio!!
ThisPenguinLovesHockey tho - a full orchestra! :)
ThisPenguinLovesHockey tho definitely an orchestra!
Yes!!!!
Or a string quartet!
As a strings player myself, I like this a lot. I don't play violin, but the amount of detail that you managed to fit in the violin is just incredible. Well done
AHHH! the accuracy and detail!!! I play violin, and all the terminology, the size and shapes! IT'S ALL SO ACCURATE! DO YOU PLAY?
It doesn't have a chinrest tho. But I swear it looks amazing and I adore how it was made with inexpensive materials :)
Carolyn Conway There's no chinrest, but other than that it's fine :D
FlyingCatsandGlitter isn't the chin rest optional?
I wondered the same thing when she was making the guitar but violin terminology is more obscure than that of a guitar. I'd be surprised to find out she isn't a musician.
Cameron Fink im not sure... but I dont think I'll be comfortable playing without a chinrest >3
So THAT'S how Mr. Krabs got such a small violin...

This makes me want to make tiny props for a doll house I don't even own. You are an artist and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
Oh, that reference from playing the smallest violin XD
Could you please consider making a lute? It's a type of guitar they used back in the medieval era.
I get so happy when I get a notification from your channel ^-^
P.S. I was actually thinking of making a mini musical instrument for my music teacher, I think she will like it, and your tutorials are just great ^-^

Where do the peg ends of the strings go? Am assuming the pegs aren't actual pegs
Wow usually when people make a miniature violin they don't even know what half of the parts are called kudos to you for being so knowledgeable!
I am a violinist and am planning on making a music stop motion film so this is very helpful!
Jillian Meszar me too
This is amazing omg. Subscribing right away, i'm so impressed!!
You need your own TV show or something. So much talent.
I'm loving the cannon played by violins in the background
Very nice..... I used hard paper to cover violin both parts sticks.
Now please tell me.... When you going to make pirates ship
I would so LOVE to see a miniature saxophone, flute, or clarinet!!! Whichever one you feel would be easy for you to make ❤️

Did you soak the coffee stirs in water? She said that that makes them flexible.
Yeah I tried soaking them for three days. Boiling them etc and they just break or don't get sharp enough curves to work. I'm using ribbon rather than rubber bands but it shouldn't make that much of a difference
Statisfhyic boiled them for hours! 😂
Radhika Shrivastav, I know what you're talking about, I did the mini guitar as a gift for my boyfriend.

this violin is so tiny and adorable, how could i not love it?
I love how you have violin background music! Bahahaha! Another outstanding creation, Cath!
FYI that music is Johann Pachelbel - Canon in D Major (aka Pachelbel's Canon)
Bazz No one asked.
That's why I said "FYI" (For Your Information)... But I'm so sorry for trying to be a friendly person, would you prefer that I be spiteful and condescending like you instead?

Make a grand piano!
it looked incredibly difficult. But after watching the instruction, it seems quite doable. That shows the quality of the instruction.
Mini ukulele anyone?
Breanna [] Roblox And More! the mini guitar pretty much looks like a ukulele! just shorten the neck 😃
Nice ROBLOX pic lol
Oh gee Cath, you are amazing. I feel like your brain must never shut down while thinking up new things for your channel. I'm not criticising you, your attention to detail is amazing. But what about the chin rest?
Stefanie berkes My thoughts exactly! They kind of looked more like cellos at the end...
That's what I was thinking!
Stefanie berkes I was thinking about that
I was thinking about the same thing.
Yeah I also want to ask her 'bout that. Well I think it will look better if it has the chin rest, so it will be perfect and fully done for the violin
OMG, her crafts are incredible, you're amazing

Ximena Garcia Zuazua And end button and nut
Ximena Garcia Zuazua I was looking threw the comments to see if anyone else noticed. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
That’s what I thought too 😂
I mean violins originally did not have a chin rest though ;)
Yeah, that's what I said
This is the CUTEST thing ever! ❤️🎻
Your voice is angelic, so relaxing... Btw, your hands are beautiful... ❤ Thanks for this amazing tuts, can you make an electric guitar (dimebag's dean from hell guitar) to be exact, atleast around 10" tall pls... TIA! :)
I do wish she'd slow down and enunciate just a little more though. What she's making is beautiful and I want to hear what she's explaining :).
Oh my gosh! My granddaughter plays the violin and I know she’d love this! Thanks so much for sharing and I’m so glad I found your channel!
yes!!! you have pachelbels canon as background!!!!

Mr Krabs says this isn't small enough.
Please please can you create one for making a cello. Your videos are amazing and the final product are just adorable. Thank-you for your creations!
The chin rest and shoulder rest
ριχєl Diamond once I've played on one without a shoulder rest hence it's help with keeping the violin up
I’ve just found your channel by mistake and it’s wonderful. I’m a fellow maker, model maker and will have to watch your other videos now!
que bonito😍😍
Bravissima...e complimenti hai delle mani curatissime e favolose! !!
Tahts art
You make the instruments with so finishing .....
just wow
and I love to watch your videos
Make a cello, please!
This is basically already a cello it has no jaw rest
@@emmawolverton3398 WTF is a jaw rest, it's a chin rest
@@misslynnin3988 ok. I didn't ask for your help
WOOT WOOT AGREED
What an adorable cello!
It's a viOliN
InkedFopdoodle
... Its a cello...
I'm not a pro at the violin , but , doesn't it have a thing where you rest your chin ??
DrawingOtaku That can be removed.
HℹFiVE™ Animation ah ok 👌
The chin rest can't be removed but the shoulder rest is detachable
+Alana, the chin rest does indeed come with the violin. Every violin I've ever seen (and I've seen dozens and dozens) certainly has one.
Really beautiful and detailed violin, thanks for sharing
It's missing the chin rest
No it's actually either a cello or base
Madelyn Halse Not all violins have a chin rest.
Not all violins have a chin rest
Jeungri Oppa true that
Maybe a cello
In the process of making this right now. Warning to anyone who tries:
- The middle of the violin with the delicately pointed ends is extremely difficult to get right.
You can soak it again (as it's banded) and that will soften it up so you can adjust the rubber bands and make it fit better.
- SANDING IS YOUR FRIEND. It will really elevate the final product. Fold a piece of sandpaper in half and rub the thin end in the grooves to fit up the shape. Don't be too rough when holding it otherwise you may push the top/bottom part into the cavity.
XD Yas! I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed!
Not all violins have chin rests
Original violins didnt have a chin rest, and the shoulder rest is optinal, i play without it
Lourdes Mileo is that uncomfortable or do you okay with a cloth on?
Ximena Botello without the chin rest is very uncomfortable, but without the shoulder rest, you get use to it
The details are impeccable! ❤️
I'm so extra I'm literally considering making this so I can do the mr Krabs violin bit when people complain to me
You impressed me making the guitars, but this is WOW ! Very talented
Sweet skills! Great results using only hand tools, I always tend to go big and I would have gone straight to the scroll saw!!!
Another awesome creation young lady. I’d like to see you make a miniature grand piano, with the lid propped open. I’m gonna try one.
Lovely. ....love the way you pay attention to small details 😍
Ashwini Sendevahyuu
Yes, she might pay attention to small details. However, she missed a HUGE detail which basically tells you its a violin and not a cello. She didn't make the chin rest! Without it, this mini 'violin' is a cello.
