Can someone write a few words about the monitor? been thinking on getting one. I'd like to know how sharp the image is, how smooth the imige is if something is moving. Also about colors how dull they are. Also is there HDR built in? Thanks for the info
This monitor has the better colors than a IPS Panel because the colors on the IPS look more dull than this TN Panel. The image is pretty sharp I don't see the difference between the IPS and the TN Monitor. I don't think this supports HDR but I might have to look into that. If it supports HDR I will update you on that.
Very in depth video, but unless I missed it, you didn't address the 'overclocking' capability. Apparently, according to the ASUS and Amazon store pages for this monitor, it is '165Hz (Overclockable)'. I'm not sure if that means that it can only go up to 165Hz if you 'overclock' it (whatever that means, how can you even overclock a monitor?), or if it means that you can go above 165Hz if you push it. It doesn't clearly say what the default or recommended refresh rate is, it just says 'overclockable 165Hz (above 144Hz)' in the title, whatever that's supposed to mean. Best guess is that the default is 144Hz but you can go above that to 165Hz if you want.
Can you tell me what the glow of this monitor or the TN panels as a whole is like in dark environments? I took the Ips version of this monitor and regretted it, the ips glow is something so uncomfortable that I had to return it.
I had the same problem man, i bhought an ips monitor from aoc and the ips glow plus backlight bleeding was really irritating me, so i returned that monitor and bought this monitor and im very happy with it. Ive been using this monitor for like 3 years and no regrets. With the right settings colors look absolutely beautiful for a TN panel. There is no existing glow or backlight bleeding on TN panels so dont worry. And response time/input lag is also non existant. Best monitor ive bought
No, you cannot get it with an IPS panel because IPS panels are not as fast as TN panels in terms of their response times. You cannot get 0.5 ms gtg response time on a IPS Gaming Monitor.
@@Andrew-on5zy No, gtg is faster than MPRT and better than MPRT but I saw on the web that MPRT can do better than gtg in terms of ghosting and motion blur. "Remember that while subjective, MPRT is overall better than GTG when trying to anticipate ghosting and blur. No, you do not have to overclock the ASUS VG248QG gaming monitor to achieve 165 fps. check if your laptop has a mini display port you can buy a mini dp to display port for full 144hz
Can you get 144 hz with dvi or hdmi?
@@hassaanrs8263 I think you can get 144hz with the proper HDMI cable that this monitor requires = )
It will depend on your laptop but it should (again assuming your laptop can do that)
Should I get this for my series X? Thinking about it probably buy it today
is it compatible with the series x and s
I think you would enjoy gaming on the X with this monitor for the price. Curious what you ended up doing and if you liked it?
Yes!
My first monitor was a curved asus like this one but 27" I don't think xbox had 1.4 1080 120hz at the time but I did the hdmi overrides and it did 120hz. I been through. ' rocksoul' 'pixio' 'and lg 850b' and Dell 27dgm22. To be honest. I don't know if it's cause my xbox gets hot but all these monitors sucked a$$ for my xbox besides the asus one ! And that was a va panel. I'm selling my 600$ lg monitor and I'm getting this little bad boy. I tried so many monitors but they aren't good or fit my needs compared to my old asus

Are you able to use this for Xbox series s and also are you able to use FPS MODE and Lower down the Levels of TRACE FREE?? Or like lower down the number of trace free setting?? Because trace free higher then 60 leaves me very bad eye strain and it’s very staticky
console caps at 60 hz so any moniter above 60 hz wont really benefit you if your gaming
late response but you can lower trace free on this monitor
@@seromane5892 no cuz the series s can support 120 fps so if u buy this monitor with it having 165hz u should be able to run 120 no problem right?
You should be able to get 1080 120 on Xbox!
for my monitor the box says 165hz but only getting 144hz
Go into your AMD /. Nvidia settings and you can change the refresh rate to 165hz
Why does my screen look so bright and blurry
Did you ever figure it out!? Hope ya did!
