- This edition covers limitations associated with low level laser guided bomb deliveries in the DCS: A-10C Warthog.

I love that you made this after what happened in the Red Flag video. Thanks!
Thanks for that i was think that it was too low to release, glad to know you got it figured out.
Wow, thanks Bunyap! Videos like this we need. Wish you'd start making videos again!
Great video Bunyap.
+Bunyap Sims I think there's a better way. It's been 4 years since I last played so I don't remember exactly,
There's a setting in the DSMS which can help you. From what I remember, that settings tells where to aim the gbu if it was to follow a purely ballistic path.
From your videos, it seems that by default the gbu is released so that it reaches a point between you and the target (then guidance changes that to aim precisely to the target).
For low altitude deliveries, you can change that setting so that it aims either closer to the target, or further ahead (don't remember). If the gbu is aimed further ahead the target, the gbu will need to correct to a steeper dive to reach the target, this works much better that trying to flatten the trajectory....
great explanation ;)
Nice!
Great video. Have u tried changing ballisitic/optimal release settings in the DSMS profile?
how about CCIP and aim long, drop it on a level flight (where you need to practice when to release it), and let your laser/pod do their job with the GBU12.
so you won't have the limit of CCRP and can drop below 2000
I never fly in DCS, and I don't know much, but hope that can help
Hi,
do you use any HD cockpit mod, or with 1.5 is the cockpit so much better than the vanilla LoRes blurry version is in 1.2.x? Just asking, because Ricardo’s Mod is a worn out look rather than your clean cockpit.
I love how many bombs the A10 can carry. Do use the gun more though, its just fun.
+LNX Gaming The gun is why everyone loves the plane, of course. It's only after you start really learning about the Hog do you realize that the gun is probably the lowest priority weapon on board. Use it if you need it, if you don't there are plenty of better choices to let you keep your distance
TheGreatGypsy I agree. The gun is risky and this thing can carry so many other weapons you shouldn't need it. However it is crazy fun and this is a game in the end. That's how I see it at least. But that's why I love these videos, he flies it correctly.
Would lasing it later help, say 5 second lase time? The high bomb can correct enough as it's travelling faster / has more energy. If you let the low bomb speed up and lase at the last second it might work better. Your aim point will be more accurate at low level (the CCRP solution will be more accurate). If you are really stuck and low level a must you can just drop it dumb and don't lase. Actually... if you lase the high bomb for 20-30 seconds you will probably see it fall short too.
Paul Campbell Yes. Lasing later will fix the issue. In the military we start lasing at 10 seconds prior to impact.
Bunyap, what joystick do you recomend for me? Not so expensive please
+Ivan Petrus thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X
IAB98Raptor thanks! But those are very expensive, right
+Ivan Petrus Not at all dude. It's like 60 bucks I think. I use it.
IAB98Raptor oh thanks!
+IAB98Raptor that was my first joystick, I still have it. EXCELLENT joystick.
I guess I need to stop being a cheap skate and get Tacview h'uh.....?
Serious question, why not just load up the plane with 6 AGM - 65H mavericks missiles? They seem to get the job done better than free falling bombs
A maverick also doesn't have the capability against hardened targets
+Hunter Brown Also, IRL 6 Maverick configurations are very rare, since the third missile on the rack has a pretty relevant chance of damaging the wing while firing.
toss them GBUs
