    This is the best Coverstitch video I have seen today! Thank you for showing: close-ups; repeating instructions at key parts of the process; actually doing the work as opposed to just talking about it or how easy it is without showing. Great job!

    I have owned many sergers, Bernina (2) Viking (1) and they were TOL I never did anything except rolled hems and overlock to finish seams. I purchased a Babylock Evolution and I have experimented with quite a few stitches, so much fun not spending hours threading and fiddling with tensions! Today I needed to shorten a jersey knit slip, am I brave enough to try cover stitch... YES... and your explanation of beginning and ending was EXCELLENT! I just finished and the hem was perfect . Thank you for the excellent tips.

    I am stunned! I have not seen this ending done so perfectly, and I am "a serger expert." I have done BabyLock's certification training and Martha Pullen Serger licensing. I have taught serger for new owners and projects over the last 15 years, and have never seen the final step of drawing the threads to the back like that! I love it! Thank you SOOOOOO much!

    This video is very well done. Unnecessary details are left out and the demonstration focuses on the trickiest and most important portion of the cover hem. This video is well worth your time to watch. The demonstrator should also be teaching classes on how to do You Tube videos. Great job!

    Thank you so much for this lesson. You are an excellent teacher and made it so simple by going step by step with us. I have been very timid to get started with the coverstitch. I wasn't sure about the ending. You cleared it up in the easiest video I have watched about it.

    Thank you so much for explaining this so well. I only have my coverlock a few weeks and was really struggling to finish off in the round. All of this serging and coverstitching is new to me and I have just managed to do a really neat finish thanks to you

    Perfect - to the point, excellent example particularly when the fabric is moved off to the side, the threads are cut then the fabric is pulled away. Had not seen that before! Great technique and her voice was easy to listen to as well....not screechy high and didn't blab on and on about things not related to what she was showing us. Thank you!

    A regular SERGER cannot sew a coverstitch hem. You have to have an actual COVERSTITCH machine. They are two different things.

      I have a Babylock Evolve. It has a cover stitch and is a serger, it will also thread itself. It does everything! She is using a Babylock that is just like mine.

    This looks like a coverstitch machine, isn't it? My serger looks totally different and the threads are all woven together.

    I am a complete newbie with a serger. I need to immediately repair a pair of athletic shorts with a cover stitch on the hem. I am not sure what to thread for this stitch. I wish I had time to take a class, but I do not. You are a great teacher, but I need more information. I am sure if you already are very familiar with your machine, this video would be great. Thank you!

    epic babylock ovation..i currently own 2 babylock evolutions...

  • @Sandiegeek
    @Sandiegeek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The title reads that this is a coverhem stitch performed with a serger. Is that truly serger or a coverstitch machine? I am just trying to understand how to do the coverhem with my serger and I do not see how this will work.

  • @honeywell891
    @honeywell891 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    OK. So if I have only a serger/overlock machine, I could add “coverstitches” as a decorative element as long as I follow these instructions? Might be a good idea if I test this out first?

    Question - What settings should the serger be on to achieve that stitch ? I don't even know what it's called 🙈

    • @superiorthreads
      @superiorthreads  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Miss Sarah, your serger needs to have built-in coverstitch capabilities to sew this stitch. I recommend giving your machine manual a quick read through to verify if your machine has the capability 👍

  • @barbaramarkland5759
    @barbaramarkland5759 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This machine (Baby Lock Ovation) is an overlocker with coverstitch capabilities.

    • @superiorthreads

      A Baby Lock Ovation serger. This is a different machine than a home sewing machine.

  • @HighMojo
    @HighMojo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The tutorial is very well done, but the title is completely misleading. The machine you're using is not a serger as per the title. A serger cannot create that kind of coverhem.
