I'll admit I haven't been watching Circassian Dancing for long but this is my favourite dance so far...the woman are beautiful their costumes are stunning...the precision in their movement makes it appear as if they're gliding across the stage...the men look dashing and very proud the lead male dancer is mesmerising to watch...thankyou again for sharing 😍💜

The video shows a stage version of the old Kabardian noble dance "Uerk kafe" performed by the state academic dance ensemble "Kabardinka".
At first glance, the dance seems simple. The audience accustomed to representing the Caucasus as a Lezginka, most likely, will not even understand what they see. No wonder).
Uerk kafe is a dance of the Kabardian (Circassian) aristocracy. This class of people was limited by strict protocol and codes, which naturally manifested itself in the dance. Aristocrats were forbidden to show emotions, freedom of movement, turn their backs to their partner, touch, and much more.
Despite the above, the main adornment of the aristocrats was modesty and dignity. This made the Circassian dances so beautiful, and the Circassians themselves known throughout the world.

The melody is called "Kafa" or "Кафа" in Russian
What is the significance of everyone having extra long sleeves? The costumes are beautiful but those sleeves intrigue me!
Such sleeves were in the clothes of the Circassian nobility. This symbolically demonstrated the height of their origin and protected them from accidental bodily touches, which were strictly prohibited in society.

Гармонь то ли не Адыгская, со скрипом, то ли инструмент не в порядке, или гармонист не Адыгэ.
Орнамент внизу подола платья несколько крупноват, неорганичен с внешним видом в целом, платок одеть, так , чтобы была бы видна брошь под воротником . Форма , конечно имеет значение, но и содержание должно приятно удивлять …

Сложно сказать. В целом, социальная дистанция между знатью и свободными людьми была небольшой. Особенно это заметно, если сравнивать с Россией. Но само право танцевать долгое время было привилегией.
@@HighCaucasus Разница между слоями населения всегда была, а в то время это разница граничила с пропастью. Очень мне нравится сама музыка а вот название танца не очень. Слово "Знать" вызывает неприятные ассоциации.
@@SHERIFF0001SHEIKH не могло быть пропасти в социальной иерархии, так как само общественное устройство было не однородно. В одной национальности в зависимости от региона могла быть аристократия, в соседнем демократия или геронтократия.
