  • Lung surfactant (surface reactant) is made of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, lecithin…Normally, your pulmonary surfactant decreases lung surface tension, and prevents the collapse of your alveoli (atelectasis)…Lack of pulmonary surfactant is seen in prematurely born neonates (babies) with neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS)…Lung Physiology…Respiratory Physiology..Pulmonology…Soaps and shampoos can be thought of as surfactants.

    OMG!! You're the best! No one literally no one can deliver a lecture the way you did. The person receiving the lecture won't ever get bored or take it as a burden because of your unexpected funny sentences like: "they contain surfactant baby!"
    I loved it😂❤️

    you say the concave shape of the water in the glass stems from its surface tension. and the mercury doesn't form a concave.
    but mercury has near 10 times the surface tension of water. shouldn't mercury form a more defined concave by this logic?

    • @jayedhossain6336
      @jayedhossain6336 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      he did a slight mistake.
      the concave surface was due to adhesive and cohesive force difference....

    • @MedicosisPerfectionalis

      It’s released all the time.

    • @reemalhazza4868
      @reemalhazza4868 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I got it ..When I think why we need it all time I think because in inhalation we need alveolar to relaxe and get air in easy way .. and in exhalation because will prevent the collapses .. is that right

    I don't know how I got here but now I know that my lungs will collapse if they don't produce enough surfactants and the production of surfactants is stimulated by hormones, including cortisol. Well, I guess I won't have to worry about that happening then.
