  • A walk through of the GR Solaris and GR Caribe in Cancun, MX. These resorts are all-inclusive and neighboring in the hotel zone. Both are waterfront with great amenities. Lengthy video due to touring two resorts, but as thorough as I could get. Still cannot figure where I left one of my GoPro cameras with additional footage. PLEASE LIKE and SUBSCRIBE for more adventures. These resorts were great for their prices and food was decent. Main turnoff we had during our stay were the hollow room doors with heavy-duty closers causing the doors to slam and the "echo-chamber" that were the hallways resulting in our poor rest. I discuss the restaurant issue toward the end of the video (after 22:00). If you have stayed at either of the resorts, please comment below with your experience! Thanks for watching and see you on the next one!

      I was surprised that more resorts are NOT offering in-house testing since it is a requirement. On the island (hotel zone) there were several trailers parked in lots that provided the required COVID testing. Thank you Sir for the comment!

    I'm from Russia, me. I had a rest in this hotel in the spring of last year) I really liked the sea, musical nightly concerts and the theater and of course the Margarita cocktail with the addition of mango!)

    I purchased a Condo Share at Royal Solaris about 15 years ago. I searched all over Mexico for the right one to buy into and I chose Royal Solaris Cancun because of the staff and the food.

      Hello, You will have a great time at the resort. It is great with it being all-inclusive! We stayed the the Royal Solaris and visited the three resorts. The only place we used at the GR Solaris was the beachside restaurant. The Marco Polo restaurant at the Royal Solaris was good, "due to COVID" the rodizio was closed, Rosmarinus was our go-to restaurant due to the location right on the beach and the fajitas were good. The pizza at the pool was cooked to order and decent. Bogavante is at the GR Caribe and overlooks the beach. The menu changes daily and open for lunch and dinner. We at there 7 times during our visit. There is a buffet breakfast at the Royal Solaris, but we found the food was better quality at the GR Caribe's Cafe Solaris. The GR Solaris is catered for families with kids, the GR Caribe is a little more quiet, and the Royal Solaris is more of where the action is with the majority of the amenities. Enjoy your time and thank you for your question!

    Hey! I’m a graduating college student deciding on either the royal solaris or the GR caribe. I wouldn’t have known about the shared ammenities before I saw your vid! Question: is it ALL shared ammenities or are there some exceptions? Also, how do you get to and from royal solaris and GR caribe? Is it easy to get to and from? And finally, which one would you recommend for a graduating college student and friends?

    • @asgoodasitgets1
      @asgoodasitgets1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! It is a very easy trip to and from the Cancun airport to the resorts in the Hotel Zone by shuttle or taxi. When we were there, it was inexpensive to rent vehicle near the airport and the rental place had a free shuttle. I would definitely recommend the Royal Solaris since it had the larger pool with the swim-up bar, DJ, Live music, indoor bars, and the price was less than the Caribe. Of course the two resorts are side-by side so you can use the amenities of both. I know this was a lengthy video, but I like to show everything offered of the two shared resorts. Enjoy!

    hey i see you’re still answering comments, but do you recommend bringing anything ? like anything you regret not bringing from home ?

    • @asgoodasitgets1
      @asgoodasitgets1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment. I cannot think of anything specific that you would need other than things you take on your trips (toiletries, swimsuit, clothing for the warm weather, and phone charger, etc). All alcohol and food is provided, there are towels available for checkout and also in your hotel room. I HIGHLY recommend taking the ferry to Isla Mujeres from the main terminal downtown (not on the hotel island) and rent a golf cart for the day ($40). There are some ruins at the southern point of the island that are cool to see, and near the middle of the island is a village that has a cool brewery (taproom) and around the corner a really good restaurant (Mango) with menu items that are normal economy prices (not tourist expensive like on the hotel island). Tulum is south from Cancun and well-worth the trip. Not sure how the rental vehicle prices are now, but that would be the best bet for a couple days. The Royal Solaris has free parking as shown near the end of my video. Have a great time!

      Been there frequently. A couple suggestions - cups at the pool bar are a little small. We bring a tervis. Bigger and keeps the drink cold. Also, a small tote bag for the pool chair to hold sunglasses, room key, money, suntan lotion, etc

    Hi, thanks for the video. A few questions….Do they have a kids club? If so, are they open? Does the resort have night shows?

    • @asgoodasitgets1
      @asgoodasitgets1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, When we were there, there was a kid's area at the Royal Solaris near the swim-up bar. They allowed up to two hours at a time for the kids to be there. It was all outdoors and as long as they were playing in the pool, masks were not required. During the day they did allow for the parents to check in with their kids and sign in and out to stay longer. We did not see any of the night shows due to the minimal staffing and reduced occupancy. The night time activities were limited to some performers and pre-recorded music in the lobby bar of the Royal Solaris. Thank you for your message and I hope you have a great time!
