Great videos!! And its great that you can say technical things about the cars! I will come from Barcelona next year for sure!! Thanks for posting that great images.
belgiumlife: Amen to that! That car, with the sound bouncing off the hills, is beyond belief ! I've heard lots of F1 engines before, but never at a hillclimb. Huge difference from listening to them in wide open spaces. Imagine hearing that thing coming at you if you didn't know what it was? "Oh, geez! I'm dead!!"
HillclimbChampion - Yikes! "Only" a GP2?? That's even more impressive, considering how quiet the current crop of F1 cars are. One of my favorite F1 engines was the Matra-powered Gitanes car from the 1970s, an ear-splitting, instant headache-producing, super-high-pitched ultra-screamer that gave people nightmares. I loved it! And thanks for the correction, seriously.
This is my favorite kind of auto racing, it's just so awesome to watch! Here's an idea to make it even more exciting.. Each car gets 2 qualification runs, and then the 2 times are averaged out to get their qualifying time. Then they are lined up on a grid- all at once, so every car is on the track together, and the race starts like a normal F1 race, standing start for all cars on green flag.. However, The fastest qualifiers get say, 50 points, which will be added to their scores in the championship- so getting a good qualification time is a HUGE part of winning the overall title. . Winning a race will get you 50 points, as well, so there's a big incentive to qualify in pole position- since it's essentially both a time trial AND a normal race, all in one. HOWEVER, unlike typical races in other race series, the FASTEST qualifying cars start at the BACK of the grid, with the SLOWEST drivers in the front. That way, there will be some truly epic racing as the fastest cars battle their way to the front in the race. The cheating aspect is nullified, because if a fast car purposely qualifies slowly, so as to take pole position in the actual race, they lose all the points that could be acquired by taking pole position.. I think this formula would dramatically increase the excitement of an already amazing type of racing. It could be called PP-TT-RR. haha, Pole position Time trial Rally race. LOL.
I have much respect for the Formulas and other fast cars pilots, going there at 200km/h is really something awesome not everyone can do, considering the risks they take hillclimb > F1 by miles for me, keep up the good work Hill Climb drivers !
I love mythical cars like Peugeot 205 turbo, Renault R5 (rally edition), Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Lancia 037 and more. I also like to have seen any of the above. If possible can you tell me where is the hillclimb? It is in St. Ursanne but that where it is? LONG LIVE TO RALLYING AND HILLCLIMB
there are 13 venues in this years European FIA Hillclimb Championship, but there are lots of other regular races and national cups. I'd guess around 10 races/tracks per country remain today for France, Italy, Germany and so on.
When Opels are hitting 180 kph I get hit with speechless and think to my self that what I'm seeing is madness till I saw F1 hitting 250 plus KPH. Animalistic driving skills for sure.
Du machst das absolut professionell, um die horrenden Tempi echt rüber zu bringen. Kurzweilige 9 Minuten von einem der Bergrennevents in Europa. Und bei 6:38 war's knapp - schnell vom Gas und weiter geht's.
I believe that Opel Kadett is an Australian at heart, it's brother from another mother being the Australian born beast by the name of Gemini made by Holden ;P
Very few videos capture the savageness of some race cars... But this one... It's like I'm really there. Thanks!
wow. the sound recordings on this video are awesome. hairs standing up on the back of my neck.
absolute pure speed.
Hammer Video!
Der Faggioli am Schluss, wie der den Osella fliegen lässt, eine Augenweide!
Yes I do, its a Mazda 3 MPS Rotary, 2.0 Turbo with 505 hp. He had some tecnical troubles after the start of the first pratice. The car is brandnew.

The 935, Delta and M1 really made this video for me, but the sound of those open wheel and prototype style cars is pure evil! BRUTAL!!!
The green one is a Opel Kadett GT/E and the other a Mazda 3 MPS Rotary, 2.0 Turbo with 505 hp

Faggioli, always flat where no one else is! Legend
It's Maurice Girard! I don't know the history of the car, but he was driven by Alan Jones.
How many hillclimb events like this are there in a year? This looks so fun, I wish we had more events like this here in the US.
I think this value is true, because on the first 4 kilometers of the track the average speed is 200 km/h!
But where do you get so many videos than? I don't know... Just keep doing what you're doing!
Great video!!!! Perfect!!
5:05 that BMW M1 sounds lovely!! pity that they stopped producing this awesome machine...
I love mythical cars like Peugeot 205 turbo, Renault R5 (rally edition), Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Lancia 037 and more.

Do you have any more details on that Mazda 3 / Mazda Axela? It only showed up in one clip.
At St. Ursanne maximum speed of 250km/h - check the linked onboard below.
Green VW & Green Opel sounds amazing!!!
They possibly do have some form of variable valve timing. But a lot of high-revving N/As do sound like this, especially if they're 1.8 or under.
i did a good choice in subscribing this channel.
Its in north-west of Switzerland.
there are 13 venues in this years European FIA Hillclimb Championship, but there are lots of other regular races and national cups.

What's the regulation for those incredible small front wheel drive Volkswagens?!!?
7:23 -7:44 sounds like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse echoing off the mountains walls. Each one gets louder, its fantastic.
N/A engines sound way better than turbo ones but they all make such a Beautiful spectacle!!
