We live in the Cleveland area, and when we go to Door County each summer we go up through the UP of Michigan. It’s a wonderful way to get there. It’s definitely longer than an hour, but we really enjoy the drive and camping.
We absolutely loved Door County! We spent a little time there in July of '22 prior to attending Airventure at Oshkosh for the first time. We're RVers from the great state of Texas so we were really enjoying the mild temperatures in July compared to what we're used to. We picked cherries at an orchard and did a fishing charter out of Sturgeon Bay. Went to a Fish boil too! Safe travels y'all!
Marc & Trish - Glad to see you had a chance to enjoy some Pickleball. Full disclosure, I have been an ambassador for Mark Pickleball for a few months now (Great name, right, Marc?). Their R&D guy (Justin) is someone, I am sure, Marc would enjoy taking a trip down pickleball paddle nerd-ville with. I have had some great discussions with Justin on materials and manufacturing processes and what makes a paddle consistent in play. If you decide to purchase some paddles, please give Mark Pickleball some consideration (great value) and let them know Tim FL sent you (10% off with AMB-MCLELLAN). Enjoy the Journey! Tim & Deb
Thank you two for a great video! It looked like a really good place, and being with your friends was fun to watch. The ferry was awesome, I’m happy Charlie survived ❤
We are camping in Door County over Labor Day Weekend. This is our 13th season and we stay in Peninsula State Park, Tennison Bay, Fish Creek. This place is amazing. So much to do and see with Great shopping.
Getting around and through Chicago is all a matter of the time of day/night that you do it, and never at morning and evening rush hour. 😁 Thanks for showing the state park. It's been decades since I camped there.
I just ran from Mass to MN via Canada. Then back through WI, OH etc to see a few things. Next time, I'll save the few hundred miles and go via Canada both ways.
We took the badger “overnight” on our first cross country RV trip. There were only about 50 passengers on that crossing so my kids won every round of bingo while my husband slept. When the badger staff drove our RV onto the ferry, my two year old was so sad that “the man took away my RV trip”. But then when we got to WI she was able to stand on the deck of the ferry and watch it be driven off. She was jumping for joy at 3 AM that “the man brought back my RV trip!!” It was also fascinating to watch the big Cat construction equipment go on/off the ferry. We’ve done several cross-country trips and for some reason this still remains one of our family’s most talked about experiences.
I so remember my experience on the SS Bager. It started out beautiful until the storm came. The waves were rough. We got to Wisconsin just in time ad I was feeling sick. Now we did this as a round trip just to say we did it,that we experienced the ride. A bus took us i to town where we stopped at a mom and pops restaurant for simething hot. We were wet and cold from getting off the boat. In a few hours we were back on the boat.for the four hour trip. It wasnt long that i found myself on the back deck hugging a popcorn container. Sick as a dog, mercy was shown and they gave us a room for me to lay down and thats were i stayed until we arrived back to Ludington! What an adventure, one I wont take again! Lol, I've spent my lifetime so far in Michigan, its been my home sense birth and although I love our travels else where,ya cant beat what Michigan has to offer!
It looks like you caught a picture of our ship the Viking Octantis (or sister ship Viking Polaris) at 10:13. We were there on MAY 29, 2024 Door Peninsula (Algoma), Wisconsin. Had a great trip from Toronto to Duluth MN.
We LOVE Ludington. Love the Badger! We’ve taken the ferry ⛴️ aross Lake Michigan, as well as some fun, entertaining sunset cruises, but we haven’t put our Airstream on there yet. The price is a little hefty for our budget, but it’s wonderful if you can help fund a historical gem like the Badger. ❤️
Grateful for a peak at taking the Badger. It's something we are planning on relatively soon. We will be taking our truck camper, so a little less expensive I think. 💰💰🤞
Going say I love travel videos but Mods and trucks are a welcome change and we all need are equipment running in tip top shape to do this RVing thing right

Hi Mark and Trish! Enjoyed Door County and the technical videos. Suggest posting on Technical Tuesdays as you see fit. Next time, stop at Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor in Ephraim, WI. Stay awesome! K.
As a Ludington native, it's always fun to see our town and the Badger through the eyes of visitors. Loved the shots from the deck looking down at the dock and through the harbor as you passed the lighthouse. It's a vantage point most of us locals don't see. Enjoy your trip!
We thought the Badger experience was the best! The people who back the vehicles up know what they are doing, for sure!! We did a video on the trip too. Glad Charlie survived. Flamingo sighting 😍 Looks like you were well stocked Trish. 😁Oh my, what big asparagus! I love smoked salmon. We have not learned how to play pickle ball yet, it is a goal of ours though. -Michelle
I took the Badger in 2022 and loved it. I didn’t realize they drove your vehicle on and had gotten out and my vehicle had been driven on. I realized I just had my rain coat on and wanted my hoodie. They were gracious and had a young kid go to my car and get it. Luckily I knew exactly where it was. I got to spend time out on the front deck and on one side of the boat during the ride because of this. Got off and headed to Peninsula state park for 4 days.
