Yeah America being petty again. Flies in shoots 2 kids in Japan then flies off. Petty. They killed them in ny opinion because they were geniuses. And they couldn't get the nuke. Japan's issue had nothing whatsoever to do with America. That's where the story got me mad. Just butting in on an investigation that they had nothing to do with.

9 listens to Birden in the first episode. (found it today only after re-watching)
He likes to listen to music from cold country.
Watanabe wanted the OST for this anime to carry a cold theme.
    Iceland is a cold country.
There have been collaborations with Icelandic artists for this anime.
Yoko Kanno is just brilliant. She knows no bounds. Brilliant, brilliant OST.

@@feelslikeflying23 The Icelandic music Nine is seen listening to throughout the series is the same music that's playing during the ending scene, in which Twelve and he die. Kids with no past, and no future, all they did was giving their life to make people not forget who they were and where they came from. Sure a truly sad story, i cried so hard when they got shot down suddenly. They didn't even had the choice to live like normal kids.
You will be always remembered, nine, twelve. Rest in peace now. *I'm taking it too seriously lolol*

bro it's historical context adds to the feels even more
they were meant as a project to build bio-soldiers to regain Japan's lost glory from WW2 [i read somewhere, could be wrong]. They were built for a purpose because the old couldn't forget the past, so they stole the future

Erza Scarlet yeah and it was literally explained in the anime.
However it shows not only that Japan is struggling to get over the past but also how wrong was of the US to use atomic bombs on Japan. Period.
Even at the end of the anime, Americans still played the evil part.
Must be a metaphor of so many proxy illegal wars and tampering with countries stability all over the world.

This is one of the best anime I have ever watched.
I am 25 and I cry when I listen this . The emotions that I haven been hiding deep inside behind the smiles, all comes out with this music :)
I believe I am not alone here no matter what age we all have something that we keep to ourselves our deepest fear, heart break, insecurity which only comes out when no one is watching. Sometimes we don't express not because we don't want to but we know people won't understand how we feel..
If anyone feels likes this please leave a comment here, I am there :)

This song makes me think on Sigur Rós everytime i hear it. I think that maybe it's a direct reference. I want to believe that Sigur Rós is the music / band that Nine heard all the time, this idea makes the ending much better and beautiful to me.
Definitely Shinichiro Watanabe brings to his animes many references and influences from other countries, cultures, different trending, etc. He always pushes his animes more forward and that is one of the reasons that makes his animes something special and particular, totally above of many generic animes that are released every season.
Honestly, Zankyou no Terror can be part of his best works, next to Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

Icelandic music is like that. It's like pain, melancholy, rage and stunning beauty flow in the veins of icelandic people including their musicians. That's why I have an obsession for Iceland, its culture and its music.
You should try to listen to Ólafur Arnalds ft. Arnor Dan, they made an album together, "For Now I Am Winter". They're both icelandic!

I know! ugh. I don't understand how this anime wasn't as popular to be honest, it had such beautiful graphics, the storyline was just so watch worthy , for a semi fast past anime, but wonderful soundtrack with it. I honestly hope people that haven't seen this series to watch it , worthy anime to watch.💕

  • @UlquCiffer

To people who watched this anime, please do not dwell in despair. There is always hope. Whatever you are trying to accomplish in life, there is always hope. No matter how dark this anime is , it is a story about hope. They died but they were doomed to begin with. It was a miracle that they survived until that time and another miracle that they made their story known to everyone. They were going to die because of their condition regardless of getting shot at the end or not. Yet they reached their goal, making everything that has been done to them public so the next generations don't have to face such cruel treatment.
