  • At Mazda’s research and design centre in Oberursel, Germany, as in Japan, designers, developers and Takumi clay modellers breathe life into the designs of new Mazda cars.
Takumi, which symbolises dexterity and precision, represents a long tradition of master craftsmanship in Japan. At Mazda they work primarily with clay and metal; elsewhere with wood, paper and the straw used for tatami mats.
What they all share is a deep commitment to their craft. Hear from the team that make-up Mazda Europe Design and learn how they collaborate to bring our award-winning vehicle designs to life.

    Hopefully someone there see’s this.
I have a love for Mazda’s artistic expression. Watching this video, it’s no wonder why I love my Mazda. Though my art is not working. It’s a 2016 Mazda3 hatchback. I’ve had it for one year, but last week, my infotainment center started a reboot loop. The dealers won’t replace it for free because it’s not a ghosting screen, and I don’t want to put an aftermarket center in, because I value Mazda’s vision and expression. I am an artist myself and I love music and miss the driving experience with it. I commute 35- 40 minutes each way to work. I am a corrections officer, so that little time between work and home is something like a meditation for me. Is there anyone in Mazda who can help me replace the infotainment system to bring back the zen feeling that my Mazda gave me? It’s just a base version, but still, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

Maybe you should consider quitting your job- to do something more artistic n more spiritual. Maybe that will help you with your problem(s). 🙂

Sounds great but why haven't any of the later generation cars aged as good as the 90's cars like the pop up headlight 323 or even the Bertone 626s? Those look good even today.

They have cut corners at every stage of the production process even down to the thickness of the windshields, my CX-5's been replaced three times as they simply crack on their own for no apparent reason. Even the quality of metals used for engine components are appealing quality. th-cam.com/video/nHiHgnAGGrQ/w-d-xo.html

Hi Don, thank you for your comment. We're sorry to hear you're not a fan of the design of the current Mazda range but we understand that design is subjective. Do you drive a Mazda yourself?

@@mazdauk I have a painstakingly maintained eternal red NB which looks stunning, yes. My first car was the first gen Bertone designed 626.
