- Our first trip to ride the off piste MTB trails at Kilburn Forest near Sutton Bank (Thirsk).
We did our best to navigate around and ride the trails found via Trail Forks etc, but it was difficult to find what we ideally were looking for on the day.
The first trail we rode was ‘Dark Horse’ and was by far the BEST we found that day. In fact, probably one of the best off piste trails we had ever ridden! You need to go check it out yourself. It starts at the small car park close by the Yorkshire Gliding centre / white horse.
Good spot that mate…though I did hit a tree causing a compound fracture of my finger 😢 some nice trails though for sure

is it easy to find these tracks without a person who knows the area or would it be useful to use strava to find the tracks
If you park where we parked, all the good stuff is right there below that car park, you can’t miss it!
Strava will certainly help you find ‘The Hag’ trail tho Tom, as that’s up on the opposite hill to ‘The Dark Horse’ trail, where we parked.
