I know you did Formby stuff the past few years. I went to Blackpool for the Formby Society event. They taught me some stuff. I'm going to buy your book on the Formby take. cheerio. Bought it!
Love me some rudiments, says the drummer, Reminds me of the drum book bible, Stick Control, but for uke ... fun ... could use Stick Control exercises : sub Down strokes for Right Hand and Up strokes for Left Hand, one would have to negotiate double up strokes with the Stick Control patterns .... may only be useful as a technical challenge ....
Both the same split stroke but different ways of thinking of where they start. Both end up with the same hand motion in the end. Some folks learn it better feeling where the accents are (big down) and some where the downbeat is (small down). The split stroke is really anything that deals with the double down stroke to create syncopation
I don’t have time to watch you often. But when I do…I learn something every time. You are a great patient teacher. Thank you.😊
Thank you 🤗🍀👍

Thank you for this! I’ve struggled with this style of music for awhile.

One of my favorite books :) I do exactly what you’re saying for fun 😂 a bass teacher had recommended it to me when I started to play slap.
As a drummer, I love the idea of Ukulele Rudiments. Is there a complete list?
Not yet! I'll be releasing more next month and hopefully eventually compiling it all into a book.
In the other video on the split stroke, you showed it as DUD: (full) down, up on A, bounce down on G.
Are those different split strokes?

I just want to tell you, that due to your great explanation, I managed to get the Dud stroke going. The syncopation sounds amazing.
@@JohannesHeld So happy to hear that!
