One thing I loved about this show was the fact that a lot of times, the arcs would focus on a specific girl and the lesson they learned from that, but the cool thing is that because the girls are almost always together and bounce off one another so well, what you end up with is that 2 or 3 of them get character development from the arc instead of just the one it was focused on. That's why I prefer it over Shirobako, it's predecessor. Sure Shirobako was faster and had it's own merits too, even giving side characters major spotlights sometimes, the main 5 girls were all pretty seperated from one another, even with 3 of them working in the same building. This left someone like Misa tragically underused. So underused that I had to Google her name for this comment. I never had to do that for Sakura Quests main girls. Oh and I also can't decide who is best girl. I won't even try.
Thanks for highlighting this series. Another reason it gets overlooked is because it's an anime original. But, as you mentioned, there isn't really anything else that really speaks to the millennial (now mostly gen-Z) problem of having no set plans for the future and no guarantees of success. Get an education -> get a job -> get a career just isn't anything that can be relied on anymore, especially when you factor in the increased priority of having a sense of fulfillment in what you are doing. Great vid. Would love to hear your thoughts on A Place Further than the Universe.
Regarding the bit about your own channel: Thank you very much for taking that approach! There are few anitube channels I enjoy watching, and yours is the only one where I really look forward to every video. And we don't even have very similar tastes, it's just that I enjoy hearing what you have say about anime!
Always nice to see a Sakura Quest video, I loved watching this while it was airing (I only started as the second court was getting started but it still counts). Yep, that feeling of “how am I making a difference here” only feels more relateable a few years later. I really hope PA Works can make another working girls anime or whatever they’re called that’s as good as this one was, personally I’d rank it above Hanasaku Iroha and Shirobako for how much of an impression it left on me.
I once had a great friend during a summer vacation. The feelings I had after the last goodbye are equivalent to the ones I had after watching the last episode of this stellar anime. Sad that it ended, but glad that it happened. Not bad considering that I only bought it in order to get a shipping upgrade and chose it because it was the one with most bright colors.
Thank you for the recommendation, I've been on a new styles of shows kinda kick as of late. Also, that frame at 6:20... Granbelm did speak to me in a way the new Madoka failed to, and I'd love to have another sweet surprise like that sometime soon
This anime went so underrated but then again it's not some isekai or shonen anime, it was about how us young adults about to face real life head-on... This anime spoke to me on a spiritual level.
I love your take on this anime! This is the first anime I started and finished this 2021. Slice of Life is my favourite genre, and this anime is on the upper part of my top favourites 🥰 I love it so much, it's a fresh take about girls in their 20's (which I can relate to, VERY MUCH 😭) I learned so much from this anime, and picked up some lessons on your video too! Glad I watched this anime after looking for animes similar to Barakamon 😅 (Another one of my top favourites). This anime is so good, it's worth rewatching!
Given from what you describe about this anime it seems to relate with what I have been going through and working to get out of. I learn that I have been struggling with what is called "existential dilemma" and I have been suffering from this for the past 10 or so years due to a mixture of constantly failing and struggling with math at collage to the point of having a low GPA and not transition enough to adulthood. I also have been working at the same job that has lost it's novelty for me. Overtime it felt that my life just froze and I have lost touch with what I wanted to in life. I am currently getting help for it now and getting connected to my purpose, but I am also learning that I should be treating my life as an adventure instead of spending a huge amount of time trying to figure out out. I am currently watching Persona 5 The Animation, but after I get done with that (along with the few other P5 anime), I will give Sakura Quest a watch. It has been a while (around 2018) since I have watch an anime that touched on something I was going through). It looks like could be potentially anime I would regard as being my top favorite.

I've seen a lot of anime content on youtube and your channel so definitely one of the best. Great content.
I swear to god, there is not enough animes about adults

I know this might sound lame, but Sakura Quest is my favorite show ever
It's not lame it one of my favourites too.

I really really really love this anime
This and Watakoi are two of the best anime with adult main characters that have wide appeal. It's too bad this one didn't get a big following though.
