    I am getting my first batch of leafcutters this summer, after the mason bees are done. I do not have a west facing location that gets sun due to all the trees around our yard, what would be the next best spot? We are in western wa...there are spots in our yard where the sun hits as it gets close to noon, maybe that would be the best alternative?

    How big of a whole do you need if you are using cane poles for your leaf cutter bees

    What do I do with my leaf cutter bees house during the winter time? I’m in northeastern Pennsylvania. Do I just leave it out? I still have the tubes that were sent to me over the spring. Do I clean them out do I throw them away what do I do? Will there be lava in there now? Thank you. Donna

      Here's a nice article about how to store them. You can also do a search and find videos about how to store them.

    My bees haven't hatched yet and they've been out in 75º+ weather for about 2 weeks. When are they going to hatch?

    I bought 10 tubes of leaf cutter bees, when they came in the mail I put them straight away into the fridge (it was over 90) and later that evening put the tubes in the bee house. That was 2 days ago and I don’t see any bees. These came from a company, not Crown.
    Do I need to take them out of the tubes? Suggestions??

      Yes, you should try to take them out, or just wait. Sometimes leafcutters are flying around when you don't know and are building their cocoons, just what like happened to me!

    Thats genius native pollinators for the Garden too bad Im kinda scared of 🐝 lol

      Native bees like leaf cutter bees and mason bees are very docile. You really have to harass them to make them sting. Trying to catch them in your fingers or maybe sitting on them would get you stung - maybe. Male leaf cutter bees and mason bees can't sting at all, and the females really, really don't want to.

    How many bees did you add to each house? I just built my box and I'm trying to figure out how many bees to purchase.

    Hi please can you let me know what I need to start a new business of honey bees thank you

    • @bluescout7758
      @bluescout7758 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Um... These aren't honey bees they're mason bees or leafcutter bees. They do not make honey but they pollinate way better than honey bees. they are solitary so they do not have a queen so they're aren't that many bees and the female is capable of a small sting
