- First UAAP Women's Volleyball Finals to be played at the Araneta Coliseum. Despite being down by two sets and as much as five points in the third set, the De La Salle Lady Spikers were able to get their bearings and extend their match against the Ateneo Lady Eagles before swarming them with their offense in the fifth set in Game 1.

the way they were making excuses for Giselle Tan saying that it was too much of a pressure.. but Kim Fajardo was also a rookie during that season and she came in and DLSU were down 0-2 and Ateneo is leading when she was asked to sub Esperanza. 😅
Kim Fajardo was the game changer. That set 3 sub was the spark DLSU needed

this was one of La Salle's best season. Ara's in her prime years during s74-75, talagang tumutupi sa ere and her reception and defense was superb!!

What a win by DLSU. But that 8 points run with powerful serves by Gervacio in the 2nd set was so impressive.
UAAP 74 & 75 paved the way for collegiate and mainstream volleyball culture in Philippines now. Remarkable era indeed. I remember watching this in 2013 and feeling the sense of being the underdog ng ALE through television. It was a pride that the Fab Five and rest of the line up got to this point. It was a win for them and Gorayeb giving a reputation for ALE in collegiate volleyball. I remember hating how strong and composed the Lady Spikers were but also so amazed by how great they were. Both teams gave it all. Sarap panuorin to this day, Dec 2022. Time flies.
Siguro, part of the reason why the commentators sounded biased sa ALE is due to the fact that at that time, it was so unexpected to see the performance from them. They weren’t known to be a contender. Whereas La Salle already had reputable volleyball program and has been on top for a while.

This is really an iconic game, one of the best games that la salle had played, minus the two biased commentators, hahaha!!! They are really annoying, fortunately they are no longer commenting, specially on the LA SALLE V ATENEO FINALS GAME OF SEASON 78, DOC IAN SAID THAT ITS ALLYSA VALDEZ WHO BROUGHT THE CROWD TO WATCH VOLLEYBALL, THATS A LAUGH!!!!
