First Time Reaction to Noa Kirel - The Power of a Unicorn

  • In this video, I am reacting to the Eurovision Song Contest participant from Israel, Noa Kirel, and her song "Unicorn". I was immediately drawn to the song's instrumental and the way it builds and changes throughout the track. It exceeded my expectations and left me wanting to hear more from Noa Kirel in the future. The accompanying music video was a stunning display of cinematic artistry, adding another layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.
As for the lyrics, I appreciated the message of self-empowerment and breaking away from societal norms. Noa Kirel's voice and delivery were both powerful and emotive, and the chorus of "I'm gonna stand here like a unicorn" was particularly memorable.
Overall, "Unicorn" is a standout song that showcases the talent and creativity of Noa Kirel. I'm excited to see what else she has in store for her fans in the future.

Your video was the best reaction video to date! Thank you so much for giving this song so much attention and I've enjoyed listening to you while you break apart tiny bits (and beats) of the song and analyze both the music production and the making of the video. You are a pro! This is the best review I have ever seen for this song so far. As for Noa Kirel, I think that her skills as a performer are mind blowing. Cudos! Great reaction!
"Unicorn" has VERY meaningful lyrics! (This is my take as an Israeli, but as it is a work of art, it is open for different interpretations, so yours is valid as well! :))
Here are the main points to understand:
The song is about the relations of Israel (The "I" in the song) and those who perceive her wrongfully as their enemy (The "You").
To all her neighboring countries, Israel stated time and time again "we are not your enemy!" (In the song "No, I'm not your enemy")
Also, the fact that the Jewish ppl are originated from ancient Israel ("Do you want to check my DNA?"), and not a colonial foreign power, as falsely accused by it's enemies.
As you may know, There is a vicious cycle of violence going on in our region for more than a century that we must break and change ("History caught in a loop, Don't you wanna change it?"), cause Israel is attacked time and time again ("If you're gonna do it, don't do it", ) and is forced to respond.
The music also contains elements of the Israeli national anthem - called "Hatikva" - The hope. One of the symbols of Unicorns is Hope and Success, and also strong healing powers.
Notice also the colors in the Music Video, they are very meaningful as well! The ceiling is all-red, she wears all-black (Symbols of violence and grief) and switches to colorful outfits when she sings the Unicorn parts from black & white - Those parts represent the hopeful and successful future ("That I won't look back, I won't look down, I'm going up").
The fact that it's all upside-down! (Not a normal reality) They are all very symbolic!
Hope all this helps to clarify the lyrics. 😊
    Cheers! ✌

Hiya! FYI, when you're reacting & reviewing the Eurovision songs, but don't know anything about the Eurovision rules, politics, ways of cheating & rigging of the Juries & some public voting; even the vices of the higher up organisers, it can leave you a little clueless about this competition. For this entry, I really liked the music, but Noa, cant sing well at all. It was all the pre-recorded backing vocals which was represented as her "singing". If you watch the live Grand Final show, you will see how like seriously, it would be hard for any great singer to sing well & have arobic style movement all throughout the song. She is well known in Israel & the US, (Jewish diaspora) & has concerts in both countries. She is also signed on to Warner Music, which is a very big rarity for the Eurovision participants. Normally they have a popularity & following of fans in their own given country & compete to represent their country in Eurovision for exposure, popularity & to build a bigger fan base in Europe & beyond. Noa is also not a trained dancer per se, she has a style of Breakdancing & gymnastics. She would be good at producing an Exercise Video. THIS is a comment I made last year about her entry, performance & the politics of Eurovision in general.
"Noa NEVER did any songs before the Grand Final, while all other country participants at least performed an acappella version of their song. Some participants even did a few other songs to showcase their talent & diversity further, in choosing songs to perform in different genres & to entertain the public, before the Grand Final. One country' participant was so talented & really had the talent of a superstar; but was bypassed by the vulgar, cheating juries, who are all political & have never been honest in their judgement for scoring. This happens every year & there's still no solution to reduce this disgrace to date!
So why & how come Noa got to be the only one to get away with not performing anything, no performances at the 5 Eurovision pre parties before the Grand Final? Reason is she cannot sing well, obviously. We only EVER got to see her live act once, at the Grand Final! How & why was Noa & Israel allowed to get away with this? In her live performance she NEVER sang, it was ALL backing vocals. All Noa did LIVE, was shout out some words, phrases & uncontrollably LAUGHED OUT LOUD. Her act was also just aerobics & breakdancing. All in all her whole performance was very AI! 😅 I truly believe that Israeli Eurovision Delegation, with the help of the EBU & ESC, rigged a 3rd placing for Israel. Think about it, there was no way Noa' Record Label would let her participate in the ESC, without a guaranteed HIGH PLACING! That’s the whole truth & nothing but the truth." ://
