I've had a lot of people asking for this one over the years and I've finally gotten to it. I think it's a pretty cool song and was very humbled when a couple of comments compared my Super Monaco music to this. This may be part of a series of covers centred around the idea of what would be the ultimate 80's Hair Metal cover band setlist.
Some tricky guitar work in this one for sure but very enjoyable to play! :)

What I love about your covers is that they sound like modernized versions of the originals, but with just a slight original spin. Yet, those original little twists work perfectly within the original version. It’s those small details that I love.

This is almost exactly the same guitar tone as the tone on Debbie Harry's 'Rush Rush' and a lot of other tunes from the Scarface soundtrack. You've nailed that 80's distorted guitar production sound.
Hell yes! Flawless musical workmanship. And what a great song. The chorus is ridiculous of corse but that's an art initself: being able to sing "bang bang, what's that sound, I gave you my love and you shot me down" with a straight face. Ted Poley FTW. Great cover anyway. Pure joy to watch a true musician at work.

Cheers Jason! Yeah I think the image of the era maybe gets the most attention and gets a lot of criticism for some bands taking it to excess. Which is understandable but I think this was the last time when it was 'cool' to strive for having the best musicianship and production in your music.
The simplicity, power and emotion of these songs of this genre are what makes them so great. Awesome cover and you have nailed Timmons' tone and solo here.

Great song - Timmons didn't play on it though - it was Tony Rey. He recorded the album then left to join Saraya. I think Andy only played one or two solos on the whole album.Andy did play all the guitars on Screw It though.
@@daviddonaldson5908 You are correct! I've been a D2 fan for 30 years and I consider myself a guy who normally knows "nuggets" of info like that. Not quite sure how I missed it all this time...you got it right, Andy played on 2 tracks. And I love Tony too, his work with Saraya was awesome, especially on When the Blackbird Sings. Both guys are brilliant players.

I can’t remember birthdays or anniversaries or what days I am supposed to work but I distinctly remember back in 1990 my vehicle got stuck in the mud. While I tried to get it unstuck, my Danger Danger cassette fell out the door into the mud.
I tried to clean it to no avail. That was the end of my Danger Danger tape.
I moved on with my life.
Now you have reminded me how much I love this song!!
My favorite memory of this song watching college strippers in Boulder, Colorado. Great tune though. LOVE IT.
Enjoyed your version better than the original where the guitar is lower in the mix, while in yours it is more prominent showcasing some of the details that one might miss with the original mix. Thanks.

Great job, as always! I've been a Danger Danger fan for years and I'm glad to see you take on some of their stuff. Andy Timmons is a great guitar player and their current guitarist, Rob Marcello is also quite good. I think their most recent album, Revolve, has some good stuff on it, too if you ever want to check that out. Thanks for the new video!

Oh my god that's REALLY good, you really know how to play. I've had Bang Bang stuck in my head now for almost a month, it's such an ear worm. I was 10 when it came out, by the way (so old).

I used to work for Morley in the early 90s and our engineer (and a fine guitar player) went to NAMM. He came back and told me he saw the best player he'd ever seen in his life. He said the guy started playing at a booth and people walked away from Satriani, Vai and a few other major stars. I asked him who and he told me Andy Timmons from Danger Danger. I literally laughed in his face. Talk about a guy flying under the radar. If you want a real challenge, take a crack at Super 70s. That thing is unbelievable. I have no problem admitting it's well beyond my skills.
BTW, I LOVE his pickups. If you're looking for a quality single coil, those are as good as anything I've heard.

Hey, if you're ever down for it, would love to see your cover and personal improvisational stamp on a couple of late-'80s Ace Frehley tracks from his Trouble Walking record: Hide Your Heart and his re-make of the old ELO track, Do Ya. Both feature some decent riffs, and both leave room for some leppardized mind-f*** under-currents (or over-currents, whatever). Just thinking out loud here...

Sykes is still my favorite, though. That 1987 Whitesnake album was and is the shit. Journey I saw live in 1983, Frontiers, with Bryan Adams as an opener. Man, the 80s were a great time for music.

Amazing cover. This album totally kicks ass, Both Andy Timmons and Tony Bruno did some spectacular guitar work on it. and this song is one of the highlights for me. This cover could almost pass off as a Leppardized cover in certain spots. But it's still a fantastic song on it's own right.
