Just got some on sale in the State of New Hampshire liquor and wine outlet. On sale for $24,95 and this is great whisky for the price. Thanks for the positive revenue on it.
No toast?! I poured myself a drop just for this video, waiting for the toast. I’m lost and alone in the world now, thanks John! I suppose my 3 Swallow will have to keep me company....
If your stuck for an irish toast keep a white sliced Brennan in the larder! 🤣😂 Sorry couldnt resist But i do love the toasts was forced in Italy to do an irish toast on Paddy's night! Bord na mona! slainte The only think i could think of was a peat briquette 🤣
The steamship collection is very good! I am an Antrim man but I take powers gold over Bushmills all day except the 16 21 and steamship collection. I get it when I fly Moldova! It's been a while next time I grab ya one to try
John, could you add some nosing and tasting notes in the video descriptions? I'm doing a monthly whiskey tasting with a friend and it would be great to be able ot print out what you've said about it.
There’s no such thing as “the Walsh Distillery”. They used to have one, but there were boardroom disagreements between Bernard Walsh and the Italian investors: Illva Saronno. The end result was that Bernard Walsh got to keep control of his brands (The Irishman and Writers’ Tears, which are produced at Midleton Distillery) while Illva Saronno got control of the distillery (named Royal Oak), which recently launched a range of whiskeys called The Busker.
Ahh ok I read about that in the Irish Times awhile ago but I thought they kept the distillery too, I was thinking is was very like Powers! now it makes more sense.
Can you find any information for that? from what I can see it still says Writers Tear is still distilled at The Walsh Distillery on the Royal Oak Estate in Co Carlow
@@thewhiskeyshed.4105 newer bottles simply say produced FOR Walsh Whiskey - I have a bottle of recently-bought Founder’s Reserve and it says exactly that. Older bottles produced before the split still list the company’s base as Royal Oak County Carlow, whereas the post-split bottles of both The Irishman and Writers’ Tears simply say County Carlow without any mention of Royal Oak. It’s confused many people and many websites, as Walsh Whiskey is still a registered Carlow company, and Carlow is the address they still list on the bottles even though it’s made in Cork.
I enjoyed it, I picked up a few bottles. I had a bottle of the 12yo, it was excellent.
Again, I have to give that a try. I'm going online now to see if I can order it. Thanks John for the review.

Very welcome Lawrence glad you enjoyed the whiskey.
Haven't tried this but am a fan of Writer's Tears. Keep up the fantastic reviews!
Must try the Writers Tears,
Just noticed this at my local the other day. Now I’ve gotta try it. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
Watched this while waiting for my shop to warm up! 18 degrees (Fahrenheit) here...kinda wish I had some of that to speed up the process.
I feel your pain
Sounds nice with the hint of apple John, Desserty. Makes you want to taste it :)

Would love to see reviews on any of the Bushmills expressions someday. I am curious about Black Bush and 10 year old Single Malt.
Will do I actually had the 10 year old in my hand but bought this, so Bushmills soon!

Would love a review on the Teeling small batch.
Sure I'll put it on the list
