  • PEAK DISTRICT WALK FEATURING LOW BRADFIELD, DUNGWORTH AND HIGH BRADFIELD
    "Low Bradfield, Dungworth and High Bradfield”
    Filmed 3rd May 2023
    Post-production completed 17th May 2023
    Like the last film, the walk in this South Yorkshire Peak District film features a couple of places seen back in my 2015 film “Solace in Strines”.
    Filmed in the Peak District in the county of South Yorkshire. Locations include Low Bradfield, Damflask Reservoir, Dungworth, Stacey Bank and High Bradfield.
    Written, presented, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach.

    "The Solitary Rambler" is my series of amateur films of my journeys in the countryside accompanied by my own musical scores, which I compose and perform on my Yamaha keyboard.
    Please note that, as with all the films I make, this is not actually intended to be an extensive guide to the area. This is a mini-movie of my personal journey along the walk, in which I often share some of my own personal stories.
    If you are new to my channel, I strongly recommend reading the description under the “about” tab, which will provide a clearer understanding of what to expect in my films: / solitaryrambler
    There is also a short “Introduction to the Solitary Rambler” video, which briefly explains what my films are all about: / solitaryrambler
    DISCLAIMER: Although I work hard to ensure all information is correct to the best of my knowledge, I am only featuring information I have found online and/or in books during my research when putting this film together, so I cannot guarantee that there are no mistakes or errors.

    It's marvellous to know that there are such beautiful and picturesque villages like these within the city of Sheffield limits, Patrick. There cannot be many cities in Great Britain where the scenery like this, is virtually on the doorstep. The countryside is so inviting to see, with all the luscious green fields, hillsides and the reservoir, too. St. Nicholas church in High Bradfield is one of the most eye-catching places of worship that I have ever seen in any village. The architecture of the exterior is stunning, and the interior is very warming indeed. An excellent film Patrick, and so, many thanks.

      I always found it fascinating that Bradfield and the surrounding countryside all falls within the city of Sheffield. Reinforces what is said about Sheffield being the greenest city. I love High Bradfield because of that wonderful church, one of the finest views from a church in the Peak District. Glad you enjoyed this Ffranc, thanks as always for watching and commenting 👍

    You're right, it doesn't look like it's near Sheffield although it is. I could live in low Bradfield but knowing my luck the dam would burst again! i had the same look on my face as you did, when the second door to the church opdned. Of late, it's been more miss than hit with the church doors you've tried. So glad it was open, it was beautiful inside. I'm not religious but the architecture and stonework on old church's is fantastic. That area makes for such a lovely country walk and so scenic. The hole in the wall lol, I've done the same. Still the alternative keeps you fit. It's always a delight to watch your uploads and relaxing too. Thanks Patrick and cheers 😁

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thanks for the kind words Kelly. I could live in Bradfield too, but would probably go for High Bradfield, safe from any potential floods! I was so chuffed to be able to get inside that church! I'm not religious either, but I adore churches themselves and this one has everything, beautiful architecture and location. Yeah I spotted that hole in the walk too late, but it wasn't a problem. Like you say, keeps me fit! 😁 Thanks for watching Kelly and all the best 👍

    I do like seeing the national park millstone, always makes me smile when I pass it on my way in 😊I agree about the Peak District, it’s not the parts managed by the National Trust and it’s boundary. Lots of lovely Peaks on the Cheshire side too.

    Living just down the other end of Loxley Road, near the Malin Bridge end of Hillsborough, I don't know if I should thank you or curse you😉 for helping to reveal the beauty of what is pretty much my second home, as I get out into the Bradfield area as much as I can. We Sheffielders like to keep this place a secret from the rest of the world so.......no, nothing to see here; please keep going to the Bakewells, Buxtons and Castletons of the Peak District rather than the Sheffield Lake District!😉

      @solitaryrambler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also don't know if I should thank you or curse you for your comments. It's difficult when I read comments as opposed to if they're spoken to me in person, but I have to admit I don't know to take your comments. I assume you're having a joke here. I certainly hope so anyway.

    • @improvesheffield4824

      @@solitaryrambler I hoped that the winky emojis would have let you know that I'm joking - especially the one after 'curse you'.
      Apologies if you feel I could have made the jokiness clearer. The sentiment in my comment is very much a well worn trope around this part of Sheffield. You'll hear lots of people say something similar with tongue at least half planted in cheek.🙂

    Patrick, very scenic walk, i liked big smile when church door opened, the suspense was killing me, is there bus service to the Bradfields? The fish in the reservoir taste quite different than haddock or cod with some nice chips . In Chicago, when walking you have to watch your back
