You can learn guitar, it's never too late. I took it up at 30 when there was no internet to find help, I took no lessons just got a couple of floppy books, best decision I made in my life. The hardest part is getting your fingertips hard, takes about two weeks of sore fingers.
i didn't hear you mention it, so I will.....This was done entirely LIVE....No pre-recorded track and lip-syncing here. Ren is in an entirely different league than most. I see people recommending "Hunger" and "Bittersweet Symphony", and they're good. But to me, Ren's Live stuff is where he really shines. Ren was also in a band, "The Big Push" for you to check out,.....he does a hell of a cover of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff". They also do a cover of Bongo Bong that's really awesome.
*The Big Push They did covers and medleys. The Hunger is where he shows his real rap chops and I think should be next, before the deep dive into the older live gigs.

Your perception of the variety of artistic qualities of this piece on a first run through was amazing. So much to absorb. I've watched dozens of reactions and you picked up on so many things others missed, like the diffence in lyrical style and complexity between voices. Great reaction!
@@Superhero2842 Is it *really* that unbelievable to you that someone who is used to analysing musical and lyrical material could be both perceptive and coherent on their first viewing/listening of new material? Some people just are as naturally articulate as they appear to be. Them's the breaks.
@@andrewcarpenter3148 it is not that unbelievable, I've watched a lot ( and I mean a lot!) of reaction videos and you can tell when someone is genuinely hearing something for the first time or if they have already watched either the video or another person's reaction to it...
The genius of Ren's lyrics, is that whether you've suffered with mental health 🤚🙋♀️ or not, we ALL have an inner dialogue whether we admit it or not; not all as extreme, but the extremes are covered so beautifully in this song that I feel it has literally gathered together strangers across the world to Stand like Ren - "on their own two feet" - & fight the battle through Rest (which is actually a Biblical principle). And I am so grateful & impressed that whether Ren intended to do that or just share his struggle with the world as conquering a hurdle to his peace; that there is Heart enough out there for this "space" to be created, that is literally proving to transcend time & space thanks to the internet - at least the internet is good for Something! Claiming the struggle as our own is when we consciously work at Trying Hard to get ourselves out of the hole and end up only finding more reason to stay down there. And just like ceasing to struggle in the ocean... when we learn to Rest in life, we allow ourselves to rise to the surface, take some fresh air into our lungs & have more likelihood of rescue. And right now, this piece of art has offered a global platform for healing & unity which is what the world's been crying out for, for eons. Not to mention that his style seems to be touching on all genres, even taking us back in time to minstrel days - your next port of call should definitely be, The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full) - it will blow your mind! much love & prosperity on your personal journey...
Ren is such a talent, this was done live and even more amazing it was done in one take, which for me is True art as it comes from the soul. You'll get a lot of requests for the sick boi and the tale of Jenny & Screech. But the song 'do you believe' is stunning and should also get the exposure it deserves! for me it's some of his finest work.
Chalk outlines will show ya his singing and lyrical ability. It’s a mental health song I think you will appreciate. He does it live with chinchilla. Beautiful
I find it so interesting that the initial melody feels cheesy then when it’s repeated at the end it feels so strong and empowering. I love this artistic expression.
I love watching people react to this video because a reaction video of is how I found this totally independent artist. Nominated this song in four categories in Prague music awards. This sharing is how he's being discovered. Thanks for finding and sharing this artist who does have an amazing story. This is such a relatable song where ever you are in life.
Legit my favorite react video. I watch "HI REN" often, and at times I feel like reaction videos validate my emotions, so I prefer them. That being said, a large percentage of these react videos seem to be people who have watched it already and then went on to create illegitimate react videos. It's abundantly obvious that nearly all react videos are not genuine, which is frustrating. Having gone over all of this, I don't care if you legitimately reacted to this video, or you are acting, because I believe you and that makes it real to me. Keep doing you, because you're authentic and interesting.

Great song and and good review and dealt alot at 42 years old losing my dad in 2007 and sister last year who was 3 years younger than me. Actually be happy and dont have to justify anything to fit in(I know deep) Best way to live a life is your own terms not rules or expectations.
I enjoy seeing youtubers getting their minds blown with musical art. I have watched and listened to a couple hundred HI REN reactions and look for new youtubers, to me,and you got a new subscriber in me. Keep doing what ya doin. KEEP MOVING FORWARD. 🤜🤛 SHARING IS CARING 1 more subscriber for your channel to 100k😁 Ren's music is the word that is like the song needed for peace in BILL AND TEDS movie, from WYLD STALLIONS.
Interesting you a 1990 child like me 😁 goatie tash like me talk like me.... Mite just be the next best me but not quit me 😂 seriously though. This song is magic. Legit magic. Your reafirmation of what people are saying about him is literally why i keep looking at how people react to him. He got the issues and problems we all want to know that others connect with and were not alone in that vein. He seems humbled from what the public eye gets of him and is a honnest open book. This lad could easily dominate if people endorsed him that little bit more and choose to openly accept the prescence of mental health that little bit more 😊
It's interesting watching so many TH-cam reactors. There are those that laugh at moments of this performance. And those who don't. I'm of the latter. From the opening frame of this video, I found nothing whatsoever remotely funny or amusing. This whole performance was - without exception - the darkest artistic performance I have ever seen. And the most powerful.
Just a side note about learning guitar...Dirty little secret, it's easy to learn to play guitar to be able to sing along with accompaniment, not difficult to learn to play the guitar competently, somewhat harder to play as well as Ren, and impossible to master. Pick a level, practice for a bit every day, and put it down when it ain't fun. Good luck either way... Oh and a really well done reaction to a beautiful performance that is bringing us all a little closer.
There is a lot for you to get through. There is literally nothing he can’t do. Join us in the Ren rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 Singing…. Chalk outlines How to be me. Rapping…… Genesis The hunger Power (My personal favourite) What you want. (Old school, fun) Wildfire Bardcore….. Hi Ren Tale of Jenny, screech, violet (in that order) Money game 1&2? Covers/retakes(his words)…… Bitter sweet symphony Right here, right now. All my life. Losing it (really love this one) Others worth a listen…. Sick boi Humble Sweet little lady Bongo bong. Dominoes Depression And loads more. Ren was in a band called ‘The big Push’ until recently. And before that ‘Trick the Fox ( before he got ill) Ren has been very ill with Lyme disease, and was missed diagnosed for many years, causing his condition to get much worse. He is currently receiving treatment in Canada.
I get it, but you were viewing this from just a "can he rap" standpoint IMO, where if you step back and resist trying to box it in and just appreciate that it's genre defying art, this performance has a lot more meaning than which voices in his head are rapping. Respect tho.
I think the phrase you are looking for when you say “dumbing down” is “stripping back”. Like, intentional simplification to create emphasis. If you said “stripped back lyricism/complication” that might be what you were looking for

Great song and and good review and dealt alot at 42 years old losing my dad in 2007 and sister last year who was 3 years younger than me.
Actually be happy and dont have to justify anything to fit in(I know deep)
Best way to live a life is your own terms not rules or expectations.
The guy can rap rap......and is insane with the word play.....damn near Em tier
Ren is a gift the likes of which comparing him to em would do them both an injustice
Inside the light there is no confusion. Clear
Check out sick boi it continues with hi Ren
Children of the moon is dark, and light. Really showcases the imagination
I enjoy seeing youtubers getting their minds blown with musical art.
I have watched and listened to a couple hundred HI REN reactions and look for new youtubers, to me,and you got a new subscriber in me.
Keep doing what ya doin.
KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Ren's music is the word that is like the song needed for peace in BILL AND TEDS movie, from WYLD STALLIONS.
Check out “The Hunger” if you want to see him flex
Interesting you a 1990 child like me 😁 goatie tash like me talk like me.... Mite just be the next best me but not quit me 😂 seriously though. This song is magic. Legit magic. Your reafirmation of what people are saying about him is literally why i keep looking at how people react to him. He got the issues and problems we all want to know that others connect with and were not alone in that vein. He seems humbled from what the public eye gets of him and is a honnest open book. This lad could easily dominate if people endorsed him that little bit more and choose to openly accept the prescence of mental health that little bit more 😊
Thanks for reacting to Ren he is so awesome
The Hunger has Ren in beastmode
Chalk outlines with Chinchilla is brilliant, she is a perfect singer for Ren.
the HUNGER shows he can rap , rap
This is live with 3 cameras. They did several takes to get the take. So the edited 3 three cameras film- from the take.
Great reaction. Keepin it real bro
Great Reaction. More Ren defiantly.
watch 'jenny's tale..a trilogy also he has a band 'the big push'
Love you bro. Great reaction. Stay real man
It's interesting watching so many TH-cam reactors. There are those that laugh at moments of this performance. And those who don't. I'm of the latter. From the opening frame of this video, I found nothing whatsoever remotely funny or amusing. This whole performance was - without exception - the darkest artistic performance I have ever seen. And the most powerful.
Ren is great. I highly recommend money game 1 and 2
If you’d like to hear Ren rap rap, check out “The Hunger”.
Adding to the list right now! Thank you for watching
Saw your reactions to Bo Burnham and then searched to see if you had a reaction to this. Love the reaction
Love Ren
Check out Genesis, Power in fact just go down the Ren rabbit hole you won't be disappointed much love ❤️🐰🕳️
It's never too late to learn an instrument
He has Lime disease. They caught it to late so he deals with the disease that causes psychosis along with other things. There’s no cure as far as know
In case you didn't realize, this was done Live!
There is a lot for you to get through. There is literally nothing he can’t do. Join us in the Ren rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇

Keep pushing and stay up
I get it, but you were viewing this from just a "can he rap" standpoint IMO, where if you step back and resist trying to box it in and just appreciate that it's genre defying art, this performance has a lot more meaning than which voices in his head are rapping. Respect tho.
Ok ok, you went there in the end. My b
I think the phrase you are looking for when you say “dumbing down” is “stripping back”. Like, intentional simplification to create emphasis. If you said “stripped back lyricism/complication” that might be what you were looking for
Honestly…… that’s exactly what I was looking for lol, thank you
@@strawhatboys lol, knowing the word someone is looking for is one of my superpowers. Very limited use but it comes in handy
Ren also films his videos in a single take.
The dark side's always more smooth that's why people get pulled into it
Nice¡! " Genesis" rap, a must do in the list.
Ren - 'Genesis' his best tune IMO.
Adding it to the list! Thanks for watching
He’s a modern day Bard
