How I make ANY VILLAGER MOVE OUT 👋 | With/Without Time Traveling | Animal Crossing: New Horizons

- Here's how you get rid of villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
This is all I know about making VILLAGERS MOVE OUT from your island 👞 No time travel needed (but obviously it makes the process faster)! Time stamps & corrections below!

🌼 Some CORRECTIONS: (ty guys for some of these!🤗) 🌼
1) it takes about 5 days (not 14) for the thought bubble to appear again if you tell a villager to stay (but still I'd just close the game not to waste 5 days. you might wanna try this after awhile if the thought bubble keeps appearing on your favorite villager. if you tell your favorite to stay there is a good chance the bubble moves on to another one and skips the villager you asked to stay) 😊
2) the move out thought bubble can possibly appear on your newest villager too (i've never seen it happen to me personally though) and from what i've gathered it is quite rare so i wouldn't really bet on it (especially if you wanna save time/kick villagers out quickly). but it can be possible.
3) most of this guide is according to my personal experience playing the game, if I mentioned thoughout this video that somethings never happen, it might just mean it never happened to me (e.g. newest villager wanting to leave) however since this guide is mainly focused on kicking out villagers QUICKLY and also just the general tips of making a villager leave so I haven't included such rare events (like your newest villager wanting to leave etc) to it so you don't waste time waiting if that possibly happens (but if it does, nice!)
4) this video is also relatively old so there might be updates to the game that might change the mechanics of kicking villagers out

I hope this helps! Especially when you're kicking out just that one specific villager it might take some time before they want to go (and it is obviously so much easier to make them leave with a campsite visitor or amiibo)! But if that's not an option just keep lowering the friendship, be patient and good luck yeeting your nightmare!! 👋😆🍀

@@niqchus I do believe if you finish the conversation it takes 14 days before the next move out bubble appears for anyone 🤔 but regardless it's better to ignore whoever has the thought bubble if it is someone who you don't want to move out because there's a good chance the bubble moves to another villager the next day! Saves so much time!
I used to try and get Sparro to leave but just before the day he asked to leave he started growing on me, when he asked to leave, as I do with all my villagers, I say yes. I felt a tiny bit sad 😢 but I don’t really regret it.
I accidentally auto filled and got KNOX- it was dreadful but luckily I searched the faster way to get rid of villagers and it worked

If you accidentally say yes to a villager who wants to move out and you don’t want them to then you can stop the process if you have more than one account on your switch. If you sign in as another player the villager will also ask that player if they should move out. If you say no then the villager stays 😊

I've found the opposite to be more affective, the higher my friendship level is, the more they asked to leave. I was gutted when aurora asked as she's my ultimate dreamie and she's never leaving 😄
Sometimes it goes like that unfortunately!! 😄😆 it's always such a heartbreak your favorite asks to move out 🙈 when I even see a thought bubble on one of my favorites I'm like no way you're not going anywhere. ever. and ignore them until the bubble moves on to another villager 😂 although sometimes I go and check and they usually just wanna sell me something instead but just seeing the thought bubble makes me always expect the worst 🙈

Unrelated, but did you know you can use your own images as design codes in the game? You can take a photo of your favourite area and use that photo as an image 😁 I just learned about it now. You can even use it as wallpaper, flooring etc.

Yeeees! I have totally forgotten about it! I did that in the very beginning with my island flag 😊 it's such a grreat designing idea! You can do paintings of the in game scenery and so many things with that!! 🤩

I didn’t know catchphrases showed us we were good friends! Catchphrase story: Raymond asked me for a catchphrase and I said Squashy 😃, he then shared it with Wade, then Wade shared it with Al and someone else then Raymond shared it with Flora and someone else! Now most of my island’s catchphrase is Squashy lol 😂
Hahaha I love that! I love seeing which villagers hang out with each other that way (when they start using the same catchphrase that someone else is using) so cute!! 😄
same with me 😂 i told peanut to say kyun~ because she's kinda this kawaii vibe. Now everyone is saying it every other sentence.
Good thing it doesn't happen with nicknames (i think) because O'Hare calls me "un culiao" (basically means "a fucker" in my country 😂 I don't want him teaching Filbert and Marina those kind of things)

Yeah I'm still to this day yet to see the thought bubble on my Flora and she has been on my island for A YEAR 🤣 I swear some villagers are just immune to the move out process and the campsite is the only hope to replace them 😂😂

In my experience, if you don’t talk to the villager at least a few times they won’t move out. I did this with Kyle and it took me forevvvver to get him out. After you know you’ve talked to him, I talk to all the other villagers EXCEPT the one you wan to move and that usually works pretty quickly.
I tried ignoring a villager for months and the damned hen never left. Then after I started talking to her again she was gone in weeks.

I hope any future animal crossing games make kicking out villagers easier to control. I've been trying to get one specific villager to move out for months (I don't use time travel, even though I'm REALLY tempted to some times), but the only thought bubbles he's ever had were item related.

Idk if this is a new thing or not, but a tip about friendship: Many people have told me that having a maxed friendship with someone makes them more likely to ask because they feel their time on the island is fulfilled. It makes sense, my dreamies constantly asked me to leave and the ones I ignored and treated badly never asked. So maybe try this if you’re struggling! ☺️
I decided when I started my island if a villager asks to leave I will always say yes even if they are my dreamies, for variety and more villager hunts as they are fun and I don’t really care which one leaves, I just want to hunt lol. So this really helps!
That's great! Kinda like in the older games when you couldn't decide who leaves 😊 so many great villagers out there to hunt for too!!

If you see a villager with a thought bubble and don’t want them to leave, you can enter a building. If the villager still has a thought bubble when you exit the building then it’s a move out bubble. If the thought bubble isn’t there when you exit the building, it wasn’t a move out bubble

You will not have a villager moving out if KK is on your island. Or there’s a fishing tourney!

@@strawmellowdoughnuts6809 the thought bubbles are randomized meaning they don’t Always happen on certain days and you can always just say no when a villager originally asks to move out to begin with when the time comes. Plus if you accidentally say yes you can get them back through the campsite with using the amiibo card if they are already moved out,tell them or stop the process if you have a second account on your switch and use your second account on the same switch to get onto your island and tell them no someone said. Just because they leave or just because they wanna leave doesn’t mean you can’t stop the process before they move out ,get them back after they move out or tell them no right away when they first ask. You can say no right away every single time someone asks to move out directly after they ask to move out and then they won’t move out if you say no right away.
I'm gonna keep time traveling to Saturdays then to get Tammy and Coach to leave
1. The friendship level effects nothing, your better off ignoring the villager you want to move out.
2. If a villager keeps wanting to move them out, talk to them and tell them no, and then skip *15* (not 14) days in the future.
3. Getting two levels into a move out conversation will autosave so if you really have second thoughts, do not proceed.
This is extremely helpful.
I also hear that fencing in villager houses and completely ignoring them works, which is my current method.

Ignoring villagers does not help in any way. This myth as already been debunked.

@@satorii_2060 I wouldn’t say that it doesn’t work it just depends on how long you use the ignoring them method to lower the friendship to the point where they get the move out thought bubble appears aka ignore them 24/7 basically espeically if it’s someone with a high friendship bar aka someone who gives you switch gifts with almost 24/7/ someone who comes up with nicknames and catchphrases with you for you she said it would take a while if it’s someone who you already befriended who’s Been on your island for a longer amount of time/ who you have a higher friendship bar with it doesn’t mean you cant get them to want to leave by ignoring them and lowering the friendship bar.
or just wait until they decide to leave on their own somehow or wait until they strike up a deal with someone wanting to move onto your island for example for this one on my island one of my villagers switched places with Sly and let Sly on my island because he striked up a deal with one of my villagers.
You can also kick villagers out through the amiibos using the campsite.
One of your least favorite villagers could still be thinking of moving out but you could still have a pretty high friendship bar with them at the same time.
1:42 to clarify for anyone wondering, it WILL eventually pop up on your most recently moved in/newest villager if you have them on your island long enough. For example, Chai is my most recently moved in villager but she's asked to move off of my island at least 3 different times since I got her in March

Good to know there's 14 days between the kick-out thought bubble. Finally got Eugene, my first campsite villager that I didn't really care for to leave a few dayd ago, and I've been trying to isolate and avoid Hamphrey, an angry little hamster that moved to my island without my permission when I had a couple of busy days and couldn't hunt for a villager 😅
+Kristine:That’s because if you have an empty house plot after someone moves out or if you built a new house the game kind of chooses a random villager for you to fill that spot it doesn’t let you choose unless you choose someone from the campsite while the house plot stays empty. Other wise the game randomly picks for you if the plot is empty if you don’t choose a villager yourself. I had one of my villagers move in like a day or 2 after I had a new house plot on my island and the plot wasn’t built that long ago from when the new villager just randomly filled the spot and I was trying to villager hunt at the time but clearly I didn’t have to find a new villager the game clearly did it for me.
Villagers also won't have the move out bubble if their birthday is coming up
Animal Crossing has turned into a customizing simulation rather than a life sim that's why people only care about the villagers appearence rather than their character. I was watching gameplay of the first Animal Crossing game and I was amazed on how good the villagers were compared to New Horizons even better because the things they said were interesting and hardly ever repeated or copied from other villagers. None of the villagers in New Horizons are special at all, why do villagers of the same personality type say the exact same things all the time?

Yea, before I started my island I vowed to only choose characters I just vibes with. My favorite villagers are Audie, Curlos, and Frita. I also have Cookie and Sherb, but I never really went looking for them.

Cool story, but all villagers act exactly the same and say exactly the same things. So take it up with Nintendo and not the people who want a carbon copied "personality" in a cute villager instead. This is not wild world where every animal has a unique personality.

If the bubble is on a villager that you like, you can remove it by hitting them with a net, this will wake them up. Otherwise if you enter a building and come out, the bubble will go.
If the thought bubble is the move out bubble it will still be there if you go into a building. But it will disappear if you hit them
yea i’d still talk to them if they had a bubble cause the bubble means more than just moving out.
@@zozzer3145 that depends on if it’s the move out thought bubble or you could just talk to them to see what the thought bubble and just tell them no if they ask to move out it let’s you say no for a reason. Sometimes it could just be the all my worries go away/I can’t remember what I was thinking/what did I wanna tell you again thought bubble or they might wanna give you gift. The game lets you say no when they ask to move out for good reasons.
@@Megz1794 if you talk to them and it's the move out bubble and say no it closes the move out window. If you ignore it the bubble moves to a different villager the next day. Best tactic is talk to them, if its the move out on a the wrong villager just kill the game and go back in. Find that villager again, ignore the bubble
@@zozzer3145 Iam just saying another thing that works if it’s the move out bubble which is just to originally say no every single time they ask when they ask. And that sometimes it’s not always the move out thought bubble just because they have a thought bubble above their head. It’s usually only the move out bubble if they mention they wanna run an idea by you or if they mention that they wanna move. Other times they have a bubble on their head because they can’t remember what they wanna say and are just randomly thinking or they have a gift. Hence why it’s a good idea to talk to them since half the time it’s not the move out bubble since the bubbles go away after you talk to them also.
you can also convince them to stay if they ask to move out. Plus one person said the move out bubble stays above the villagers head a lot longer than all the other thought bubbles.
I just usually always say no to my villagers if they wanna move out and convince them to stay since that also works if you really don’t want them to leave the island and they are thinking of moving out. You don’t always have to ignore them because then you’ll just get the move out bubble like 14 days later again. And half the time it might not even be the move out bubble when you first see a bubble above their head was my point sometimes they have something else they wanna tell you or say to you or they can’t remember what they are thinking. The best tactic in my opinion is to just say no to them when they ask to move out that way they can’t leave the island and they will still be on your island.

I find that so cute when they ask you to change their catchphrase, Maddie the dog asked me for a new one and I made her say Bazinga and now majority of my island says it 😂
A little trick I do to keep my dreamies is give them gifts EVERY DAY. Either give them fruit (also make for they are wrapped.) Or fossils. Note that they will NOT accept fossils that aren't in the museum, so if blathers asks for it, give it or just keep it/sell. Fruit is a good option tho, this raises friendship points making sure your faves don't want to leave.
Also adding: if you say no to them moving out you don’t have to wait the 14/15 days it’s only 5 days I believe

Amiibos are a life saver!! 😂😂 awh I really like Sherb but since I'm going with a tropical theme ... well someone needs to leave 🙈 (and I kinda knew he probably wanted to go bc I saw the thought bubble on him last time I was trying to kick someone out..) but he might make a comeback eventually, who knows! Finally got Harry to leave today by using time travel, I swear all the other good villagers had asked twice already and Harry just wouldn't leave!! I got Peggy to leave going back ages ago (beginning of year) when bam was camping so there was a land available just as I convinced Bam to come on my island it turned out there was no room, I was so confused and then see the disgusting Harry has taken that plot of land 🙄. So I just always really hated that villager and finally it left today! I was so happy about it and a bunny villager has taken the place :).
I hate harry sm, I've tried everything to get him to leave my island and he just doesn't!

I have actually started to build a fence around their house and using the pitfall seed on them and it’s a laugh seeing them fall into the holes and getting mad. I have used this now on two villagers and a couple of days they have asked to leave but then I could just be lucky.
Hahahah 😂 I think pitfalls make them angry too, right? So that could lower the friendship too and make them leave faster 🤔 not sure though! 😂
Hitting a villager with the net actually increases your friendship because they keep talking to you every five times you hit them
I totally agree. I hit a villager with my net every time i seen her and never gave her the daily gift. After 3 weeks of doing that I gifted her. She gave me her photo.

He was mine too. He was kinda like a wild card. Some days I couldn't stand him. Other days, he would do something sweet/ funny like arguing with friga. Eventually he did ask to leave and I let him go. He left me with one of those fish costumes that I gave him and a cancer table. I still have that table and that's probably the best thing I've gotten from a villager that was leaving

I’ve had new villagers ask to move out. I can’t figure out the algorithm. Being friends, not being friends, old or new villagers. It seems to be totally random to me.
I love Chadder. I mean, a mouse that looks like cheese with a moldy nose…come onnnn. I got rid of him once and them brought him back.

I ended up with the ones I didn't really care for because I sold plots of land instead of using tickets.
A pink monkey I hated wouldn't get out. I even put her up on a 3 level mountain but she still didn't move out but after watching this I used ur tip and it helped alot. Tysm!

Don’t know if this is true or not but tip for if you time travel when doing this: TT to around 1pm because mist villagers are out at that time so it’s easier to find them but yeah I do this. Also apparently hitting villagers doesn’t actually do anything as you are making conversation with them, like they are angry at the time but they get over it? Not sure though because there’s mixed ideas everywhere it seems to be different for everyone. But very helpful tips non the less I love all your videos you are amazing and so underrated ❤️
Yeah I'd say gifting trash lowers the friendship way moore and I always feel so bad hitting them with a net anyways 😂 and sometimes it just seems like nothing works but that's why there's the campsite & amiibos as a 'last resort' 😆 I'm sure there's also plenty other ways and tips for this but these usually work for me at least 😊 and thank you so much!! if you dont want a villager to moove but he is already in boxes and you have another character on your island, you can talk with the other character to convince him not to leave. it work before idk if it still work but i guess it should.

I had two lovely and awesome villagers named Spork and Puddles.
Puddles was a pink frog who wore a green dress, and always talked about how she wanted to be a famous singer. I loved her interior vibes (pop and girly) and she became one of my good friends on my island. She always played K.K. Disco in her home and now I'm always reminded of her whenever I listen to it. Puddles got into an argument with one of my other villagers, Mira. She even gave me a vacuum cleaner as a gift once!
She ended up moving out shortly after Spork did.

The thought bubble will still appear when K.K. Slider is in town, I had someone move off a few days ago on a saturday a few days ago WITHOUT time travelling.

I remember watching this when I wanted to get rid of Bitty and some other hippo villager, luckily they're gone now. I don't have any villagers I really want to get rid of yet, but I decided to come back anyway lol.

I also love how when they randomly give you a gift they are just like oh I have a piece of clothing do you want it then just randomly give it to you without letting you answer yes or no and you just get anyway so they can get rid of it

This video has answered my question. I was starting to think that some villagers just don't get the thought bubble just to annoy us! 🤣 I'm stuck with Chops on my island. He was the last villager to join my island. I've tried to get rid him. I ignore him, I hit him with the net but he's still there. He's never had the thought bubble at all and he's been on my island since last year. The other issue I have is, I can't get the apple and orange trees! I travel to mystery islands but they never appear. Do they appear eventually? Also, you have a new subscriber! 😀
No they won’t appear, you have your native fruit and a sister fruit/coconuts that will appear on mystery island the other two need to be given to you using online play which requires Nintendo online
I've been trying to kick out Deirdre for ages ,___, I've never gifted her anything or done something to be friends with her besides talking once or twice and now she's wearing my custom design I put at Able's and won't leave. I'm mad. >:c

Other then hitting villagers with nets and gifting them with trash,you can also push them around,it also lowers friendship points.

Friendship points are important. I believe when a 'thought bubble' appears that it's the villager testing our friendship, or friendship points are ready to increase to the next level. When the game funds a bridge or incline the amount is calculated by your islands total friendship points. Keeping a villager until they at least give up a picture more than likely helps the game progress in a few ways. Why start over with a noob who hasn't become friends yet? Using an amiibo is the best way to replace a villager. It takes 3 days w/o time traveling. Plus the camper gives the boot to your former friend...

Big question - I had a villager that i didnt want to leave (at the time) and when they expressed leaving, i told them to stay. But now a few months later, I want them to leave lol. Will those villagers ever have the thought bubble again or are they on your island forever now??

They will eventually yes so no worries! It might take some time before the bubble appears on them again but if you're lucky it might appear very very soon too! Good luck!

If you see the thought bubble and wonder if it’s the move out one just go in a building and come back out. If they still have the bubble it’s usually a move out one.
Here’s a story for you guys. Currently, I’m trying to move out Melba. (Which I absolutely love but I’m trying to get lolly, bob, or ankha) my current setup is Marina, Shino, Stitches, Raymond, Marshal, Goldie, Mitzi, Tia, Beau, and myself. Currently as I’m typing this I’m trying to get Melba to move out but I gotta to watch the video so more on the story as it goes on. Edit: at 11:48 I got her to leave! Currently villager hunting.
