    Named after the largest diamond ever discovered, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the first SUV and the first off-road vehicle Rolls-Royce has ever made. Starting at $325,000, it's an expensive way to get to the top of a mountain, but it's packed with fascinating engineering features. From the AWD system, to the "magic carpet ride," to the unique sound deadening, tires, transforming cargo area, frame finishing, coachline, the list goes on! Check out the video for the very first driving impressions of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, launched in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
    Big thanks to Carfection for the drone shots! See first drive here:

      Copy-paste from my other answer. Why tow your drift car when you could get a Phantom and turn that into a drift car? "Also I sure hope somebody has stripped all the plush luxury mass out of a Phantom, turned off all the goofy ESC/ABS and so on, and done endless burnouts, drifts and so on. If I could afford a Rolls, I'd definitely get a second Rolls and do that with it. Keep it looking externally the same, and have a sleeper Rolls Royce that can spin it's wheels...."

      I’ve always questioned why the umbrellas are only accessible with the door open. I wanted an umbrella for each of the four doors in my 2012 Dakota. I like to accommodate my friends as if they were RR passengers despite the fact that I don’t have the quarter billion or so that one should have before thinking about purchasing a Rolls. The Dakota has two bottle holders in the front doors and two extra cup holders rear doors. Since the interior has two cup holders in the center console up front and two cup holders in the rear seat center armrest sacraficing the in door holders for umbrellas seemed reasonable. I bought two different sizes of Totes collapsible umbrellas to fit each of the holders snuggly so they wouldn’t rattle and they stay out.
      With collapsible umbrellas in the doors you can pull the umbrella out, hold it near the top of the door, open the door and press the release button to open the umbrella immediately. The umbrella opens and clears the roof without scratching and keeps the rain from getting the interior wet.

    For anyone NOT having seen this GORGEOUS Beast up close & personal I must say that I was very pleased exploring various specked SUV's available at the LUXURIOUS launch in Vancouver, Canada in May 2018.
    The LUXURY, OPULENCE, COMFORT and the ease in which it accelerates and knows exactly which gear is best as aided by the Sat Nav is all just so relaxing. All of your worries go away as you bath in the seat, the ride, the quietness of the experience.

    It would have been cool to hear a bit more about things like the HiFi Soundsystem as well as the functionality of all driver controls, display etc.
    My first impression of the Cullinan aesthetics was a bit irritated, but the more I Look at it, the better it gets. It is so consequent from the design standpoint, which ensures the Cullinan will still look good ten years from now. Ist bold and timeless. Not a beauty, but unique and a lot of presence.
    By the way, the way you talk with your hands and your general appearance is very attractive🤓

    I'd hate loosing the umbrella if my RR got totalled, so I appreciate the tech keeping it in place. Thanks for another cool video. Greetings from Toronto, Canada.

      I watched a documentary about the Bentley factory, and they've got a guy doing the same thing. Day after day he is painting a stripe down the side of car after car, and it's done freehand using a tiny brush. Without any other tools he paints that line so perfectly sharp and straight it's unnatural. A human shouldn't be able to do something like that, not without some kind of straightedge, masking tape, sight line, or a frickin laser. But he doesn't need any of that. A good brush and a steady hand is all he uses.
      Don't know if pulls 70k a year, but I bet he's well paid.

      Blahorga Slisk that job is highly specialized, Jason said in the video he’s been doing the last 10-15 years, and they couldn’t just replace him quickly most likely. I bet he does pull that or more. He could also be the painter for the vehicles as well. They are low volume enough that I could see that as a possibility

    • @blahorgaslisk7763
      @blahorgaslisk7763 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That guy at Bentley didn't do anything but paint those stripes. Sanding and QA was done by a special team. The painting was done by robots that put down the paint more consistently than any human, but still they had that guy doing the stripes. After that the robots clear coated the car.
      I'm pretty sure they could have a robot do those stripes, but that's not what the customers want. They want something showing that a human has touched it. That stripe is so close to perfect it's silly, and yet as a human he can't do every stripe absolutely perfectly. Those who buy these cars will look for every little sign of imperfection. If they see a slight imperfection in this stripe they will see it as a sign that a craftsman has actually painted it. It just shows how exclusive their car is.
      The upholstery, the dash, and the stitching on the steering wheel are some other places where they can find ever so slight imperfections that show it was done by hand.

      I have a pinstriper who stripes my cars and monograms me front doors under the door locks when I get new cars. Same thing. He does it freehand and his precision is uncanny. He’s always done in only a few minutes and we go onto the patio and have a beer while it dries.
