First you’re being contradictory by acknowledging a “local” transit bus (which can be a commuter, city bus or any type of bus). Second if a transit bus is local then it cannot under definition be a remote intercity bus. Third, the answer to your wrong question is that there are indeed many transit agencies that have commuter and line haul routes either directly (true express) or aggregated multiple stop routes. Greyhound was never ever really the only game in town and never will be.
@@marvinjgerald6007 I guess you misunderstood me. I am not saying that I can make the entire trip on one single bus. I know that I probably would need to make many transfers. What I am saying is that maybe I can basically hop from city and city and from town to town, transferring to the next transit agency and to the next transit agency, until I get to downtown Washington, D. C. My reasoning is that two adjacent towns would have their own transit agencies, so I can transfer from one transit agency to the other.
You would have to make several connections through New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland riding on several routes in each state. And as pointed out it would be a mix of city and suburban routes.
