FYI - To anyone about to do this upgrade: I just did the stainless steel version on my 21 Scout ABS. In regards to the two nuts on the engine side of the cable. One nut threads all the down and goes on the underside of the "stop". The other nut leave unthreaded until you get the cable end mounted to the bike Then, thread the second nut down. I first mounted with both nuts on the top side, but I kept needing to tighten and tighten and it seemed I was running out of adjustment. The one nut on top/one under fixed it. Before I re did it, I turned the adjuster all the way back to the right, basically starting the adjustment point over. I found I didn't have to turn it left nearly as much. Hope this helps clarify that little detail.
Nicely done video. I also replaced stock cable with a Barnett cable, and totally agree with you on easier clutch pull. Oddly, my clutch now seems to start engaging sooner than before. Free play on lever is dead on, so I cannot explain why engagement distance would change. If you are concerned about not having rubber boot on cable adjuster, you can try what I did. Pick up some black self sealing tape, cut off about 6" and tightly wrap around barrel adjuster. If done correctly, it will seal out dirt and water. Also (not trying to be critical) on clutch actuating arm, it looks as though both nuts ended on top of cable bracket. Correct is one on each side of that bracket. (Ask me how I know) Always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the tip! And thank you for noticing the bolts. We were unsure on how they went so I started going through different TH-cam videos and noticed other people had both nuts on top(I didn’t think it made sense) I’ll be fixing that now. Thanks for watching
And it wont break like the stock cable! My stock cable broke twice in 10k miles. The Barnett is built much better,it has a metal guide where it hooks up the the clutch actuator on the motor.
Hey, great video, I ordered the same cable and I'm going to try it myself! Could u please share with me what wrench model and brand you're using in this video? Thank you!
Hi ! I watched the video and wondering? That two nuts you tightened them together! I think they should be separated like the oem clutch cable! Why you think they should be together ? Thank you
Maybe a stupid question but why would you change the cable? Is there something wrong with the indian cables? Ps, didn’t had any sound sow maybe you explained it in the video 😊
The barnett cable is thicker and has better mechanical properties and lubrication. It also has a 90 deg bend elbow whereas the stock bends the cable. It's wayy better next would be barnnet clutch in time.
I just bout the rouge too (with 500 miles on it) and yes it does into first. I lubed and greased the cable and had to adjust my friction zone, then it worked like a charm. @@noobish2654

@mikeh4686 I thought both bolts were to be on top as well. How do you know and how can this effect the pull or tightness?

Mine came from factory with nuts on each side of boss. Please refer to shop manual.

Barnett and Russell both make the best cables and they make custom sizes too.
Thank you so much for sharing it was awesome
Great video. Sold me on the Barnett. Thanks for the walkthrough.
Smoooooth. Looks like a great upgrade for sure.
Nice, what lever are you using as it look like a much shorter pull, and did you upgrade the throttle side lever as well?
It is the joker machine clutch lever
@NotKragel yeah
Great video, new cable on the way. Did the Barnett cable change the biting point of the clutch?

So effortless! Thank you for sharing!
Excuse me you use the +6” cable in your scout motorcycle???

You’re correct! I followed the steps on a video I watched prior to the installation but I should’ve followed my gut lol
@@HER6GEARS Thanks for reply! Ride safe and keep good content 👍
A subject I am interested in for my Scout, but the loud music ruined for me. I didn't finish it. Sorry

My Indian cable broke at 10,000 miles - that should tell you something!
What mirrors are those ones? Link?
A mod that so many ignore. It can make riding so much more enjoyable.
My 2019 Indian Scout clutch cable just broke, can you tell me which actual cable it is you got? Great video. Thank you.
dean-speed.com/barnett-indian-scout-victory-octane-clutch-cable-black/ here’s where I got mine. I went with the 6” for my stock handlebars
@@HER6GEARS excellent, thank you.
what mirrors are you using?
I just bought a scout rogue. It seems to shift rougher into 1st & 2nd gears than it does the rest. Is this normal?
Is it brand new?
@HER6GEARS It only has 1500 miles on it. So practically, yes

if that doesn't work, your slow down your throttle hand......its a small but powerful bike.
And it won't break like the stock cable.
Great, great job 👍👍👍
Will you be getting all the chrome off soon?
Not sure when yet. Removing the front tire to install fork boots scares me a little bit 😅 I’m sure I’ll get over that soon though lol
@@HER6GEARS ok you are extremely talented you got this 👍
WOW!!
DO NOT grease the actual cable between the barrel and the sheath. From Indian clutch video. Only the barrels gets grease.
when you have nothing to do with your bike lol
