Yes, back in the days we had pocket watches which were smaller than our phones. Somehow wristwatch were more convenient and pocket watches become obsolete... If you dont find it convenient ,- just wear a smaller, thinner watch. it literally takes 2sec to look at the time and its a physical dial and not a screen.

Or if you want you can get radio controlled solar watch, so it will have perfect accuracy , a physical analog dial, no battery and no maintenance for like 10-15y, and it will have more shock and water resistance than any phone. Again why would you use pocket watch/phone if you have wristwatch. Also overpriced is subjective term. People buy iphones which are twice the price of equivalent android and they are throw away items. Meanwhile collectible mechanical watches have high resale value and unlimited service time. So their lifespan is unlimited.
