Love love technical talk on fashion breakdown! I'm going to apply your tip of aligning bottoms color with shoe color. I also don't have a car, so I'm usually in sneakers. I have inverted triangle shape and go for chunky shoes because they add volume to my bottom half and give me a more balanced look. Have noticed you don't go for matchy colors and your approach is more aesthetically pleasing. Would love this type of video for choosing a handbag style/color.
My friend is a stylist and talks about framing an outfit with coordinating shoes and bags. So black bag with black shoes and brown bag with brown shoes, etc. I’ve been doing that for a while and it’s so helpful for making an outfit cohesive! Will definitely be playing around with some of your suggestions from this video as well.
11:07 Love that you said you don't "match" but you actually did with your handbag! It achieves the same effect of making the outfit harmonious to match your accessories. I think the nude shoes also elongate your legs, while the black chunky shoes have the opposite effect with the white skirt and ankle showing.
Great video as usual. This is especially helpful, as I've been struggling to create 'stylish' outfits incorporating the particular pair shoes which I want to wear. Will try these tips!
I am also a 37,5 and sometimes struggle to find the right shoe size. As for big bags with no pockets or compartments in France you can buy a purse organizer. It’s so practical. This way you will find everything easily and can move it to another bag. Love the red color it really suits you !
I love how you stay true to yourself and give tips on how to match up like stylists recommend or having a more effortless approach like yours. I would definitely colour depth match footwear to my bottoms like you I think it is more flattering especially as I am only 5'1" I don't wear chunky footwear in general but I definitely have shoes with a larger profile so Great Vlog Helen 😘 I appreciate all the work involved in your vlog, so professional❤️
Hi Helen. I noticed that you tend to wear a lot of solid/block colours. On the other hand, I love me my prints and I’d like to know in particular how you’d choose your footwear to go with an outfit that has a lot of prints. I don’t have animal prints, but I do often wear plaid, stripes, and the occasional chevron. Thanks!
helpful video haha my current shoes styles are just: white sneakers, black runners, grey hiking shoes and brown leather boots. so i need to diversify a bit...
I like to match my dress and skirt color with shoes, too, not with top or contrasting. Shoes really are mood makers. Cotton tee and denim mini would look a lot less casual wearing heeled sandals than canvas sneakers. My new Vera Pelle bag looks a lot like your tan bag except mine has a handle on top. Mine also came with gold metal chain strap but I don’t like heavy chain so I swap out for a slim leather strap that sort of match the color.
Good tips. I rarely wear black footwear and not at all in summer. I’m petite and it just looks too heavy and cuts me off visually. I do like some chunky shoes and boots, though, they give my undersized feet a bit more presence, which they often need. I hate looking like I’m tottering around on bound feet (they’re not, obviously, they’re just not scaled right for my height; my head, face and hands are the same).
If I wear navy blue dress pants, I wear navy blue shoes, and I make sure I have blue in my blouse..I don't wear black shoes with navy pants..I try to match my belt, bag, and shoes all together, if I don't wear a belt, then I will match my bag and my shoes.. I stick with 3 colors at a time..If I wear blue jeans, and a red and white striped top then I will wear red shoes.
I like to think of the matching top and shoes as a checkerboard effect which I also agree, is to matchy-matchy and bit dated imo, while the continuous line of colour created by a dark top and bottom with a pop of tonal contrast with the shoes as a punctuation mark and more interesting. I think the all black top and bottoms with white trend sneakers started this and it's still going strong. Your analysis of why some outfits work and others don't, is so useful btw, makes such a difference to understanding styling tips and tricks, Thx!

I LOVED this video! I love how you put into words what I naturally tend to lean towards.

Thanks for this video. I’ve often wondered how to style shoes with outfit. Will definitely try your tips!
Oooh I love your last tip about volume skirts and dainty shoes! Would you say it holds for bell bottom jeans/ wide leg trousers?
Thanks for your brilliant advice! You’ve done the thinking for me😂❤
helpful video haha

Very true! :) Thanks for watching xx
Sounds goofy, but I’ll sometimes match an outlier shoe color in my earrings for super subtle cohesion.
Hi! I was wondering what is the name of the dainty 2 strap sandals you are wearing? I can't find it in your link below! Many thanks!
Helen, what about socks? Do you wear socks for the Tods loafer? And how to do clean the mules since one can’t wear socks?
I just love your Australian accent, just like rose's
Truly useful tips! Thanks!

I have to try out tods loafers one day. I have wide feet and find it really hard to find shoes❤
Helen I really really obsessed with your style so so so much💕✨
I'm so glad you like it, thank you so much :) xx
Great video!
Hello I don’t see the yellow sleeveless top linked.
very helpful tips😊
Glad it was helpful :) Thank you for watching
Great video
Would you be able to do an over the knee boots video soon? Thanks and great video!
I don’t think Helen wears over the knee boots judging by her personal styles.
I currently don't own any but possibly one day if I find a pair that fits well :)

great video as always :)
Hehe thank you

Omg did you get a new Puzzle Bag?
I got it in a small which I spotted in a recent net-a-porter sale. I almost never see loewe puzzles on sale these days so could not resist :)
@@DailyHelenJso pretty and lucky you for catching the sale!
Shoes
*promo sm* 💘
This didn’t work for me because I don’t like old lady shoes.
These shoes are good for walking, but they are not very good looking. I am not into big black chunky shoes. They just make me look frumpy.
Lol old ladies wear Velcro strap soft beige slimmer shoes. See a lot of teenagers wearing doc Martin sandals and shoes etc.
