This was really helpful!! Now we need one video to learn how to add lyrics to the songs thou
thx for great explanation. How will I upload my video clip? Should I upload it to youtube by myself after release, or upload it when I am at uploading page of distrokid?
If you are doing this yourself you could upload and schedule it on TH-cam on your planned launch date. But, I know Distrokid now has a video release section, it does cost more, but your video will be released on TH-cam, Vevo, and everywhere else like a regular studio label would do for big name artists.
And again you sir when you click the hyper follow it said available soon so how long does it takes to be available on all streaming platforms
It varies, it takes a while to propagate. You should plan at least 4 weeks ahead of time minimum.
Some platforms put it up faster, but if you want to do a proper release you should definitely plan to upload at least a month ahead of time.
yo, help me. Can i change release date? for example , i uploaded my old song in 2023 but i want change date on 2022??
Hello what plan you use, is it 1 artist plan?
I have the other one, that allows me 2 artists. I have couple profiles.
I dont understant what you mean about youtube music store. I have posted all my songs to my youtube channel previously. Should i not post to youtube through distrokid now?
Some people don't want their audio or song on youtube and prefer to upload that manually alongside a music video. Is purely a preference, but Distrokid had a bunch of people asking why they uploaded to youtube as well. And yeah, that's why they added the disclaimer there just in case.
Ohh so can I have them post it to TH-cam music and combine the accounts?@@ElishaRecords
Wait so what account does the music get posted to if you don’t have one yet?
If it’s your very first release they will create a verified account for you on all streaming platforms.
@@ElishaRecords I have not, will look into it. Also I release my very first single but how am I supposed to setup a Spotify and how will they upload it in there
1. So helpful sir. You didn't touch the payment part. How is the payment done on distrokid platform? What procedure is followed in making payment ?
2. Is the payment done every
year?
Yes, it’s like any other regular subscription. You pay and that will be discounted automatically from the card you have in store.
Yes, it’s only once a year. And they’ll send you reminders if your card is expired or anything else.
Can I use phone to upload a song in distrokid
@@karspalbeats I need to check on that, I’ve been wanting to do an updated video about this and this should be included. Although I have no clue why anyone would want to upload from a mobile phone having that option is still pretty cool. I’ll keep guys posted, as far as I know you cannot, but I might be wrong.
@@karspalbeats I stand corrected. You can definitely upload on mobile. Which is great!
doesn’t matter if you do 4 weeks prior or not btw
It does matter if you want it to be in time on as many platforms as possible. If you don’t care about that then they will come out as they are available.
@@ElishaRecords just saying good video tho, what i’m saying is you don’t need to wait, my music is doing great and i submitted into stores less than a week prior
@@PedroRazaMusic yeah, all I’m saying is that you’re probably lucky. As per Distrokid right now: iTunes/Apple Music: 1-7 days. A very small percentage of albums go through manual review at Apple, which takes an additional 1-2 weeks or so. Spotify: 2-5 days
Amazon: 1-2 days TH-cam Music: 1-2 days Deezer: 1-2 days
TIDAL: 2 days Facebook/Instagram: 1-2 weeks TikTok: 1-2 days
Anghami: 1-5 days (some require manual review by Anghami's team which can take an additional 2-3 days). That’s why to make absolutely sure your music is on time is a good idea to get it up 3 - 4 weeks prior to release. I recommend 4 weeks because this is just for DistroKid, counting you do proper promotion and marketing you should have a solid release calendar.
@@ElishaRecords never luck pa it’s skill and talent, didn’t get streams from playlists🙏🏽
@@PedroRazaMusic luck nor skill has to do with a release calendar. You are not able to rush release on any platform cause you don’t own the platforms. It’s up to the platforms to upload the music according to their standards in their timeline. Not sure if you understand the why behind it yet. But if it’s working for you that fine. Just saying the 4 weeks is not just because, but more how proper planning is done.
Thank you for this video! Here I come Distrokid!
You’re welcome! 🙌🏻
