A lot of misleading information about Mathieu Flamini so let me clear this up. GF Biochemicals is not worth $20B+. Where that came from was Flamini saying he thinks it can some day be worth that and a bunch of BS articles ran with that valuation. This wasn't hard to debunk and should've been common sense as that's an outrageous figure and a larger valuation than most companies in the S&P 500. It also doesn't have 400 employees, as the wikipedia article where that figure was obviously taken from quotes an article that references 400 "indirect employees" and about 80 "direct employees". Who knows what indirect employees are, I have never heard of that word before, but it sounds like they aren't part of the company. LinkedIn shows 10 employees and Crunchbase says 10-50. Let's just run with the 80 estimate from before and give them the benefit of the doubt. GF recently acquired a company at an undisclosed price, which had about $70M in Venture Capital funding. Source: Pitchbook While the company is sizable for sure, a $20B company wouldn't be going for little players like that. $200-$400M valuation sounds more reasonable given what I laid out. And before someone says, "who tf are you to be saying this?", I work at an investment bank and know what should make sense.
