The reason why her pizza sough didn’t rise too much was because she added salt directly to her yeast. You need to add it after the flour, because otherwise, the salt concentrations will hurt or even kill your yeast.
Actually, according to the producer of SpongeBob, The Krabby patty has absolutely no meat whatsoever. it’s patty is vegan. so technically, she just made a regular krabby patty.
BTW, never mix yeast with salt, it deactivates it. Mix yeast in lukewarm with sugar, and let it activate for 10-15m. Then you can add salt when you already mixed the yeast with the flower

a tip for the future: when the egg doesn’t mix with the butter is because of the fat that is on the butter, when you add your other ingredients it will mix!

Naomi, your pizza came out perfect! You called it “tanned” but it was excellently golden brown, as it should be. Broccoli pizza typically comes out with the broccoli charred, that’s what makes it so delicious 🤤 so yea lol you actually did a great job and it looked awesome!!
actually the recipe i saw online for butter beer is just crème soda, caramel extract and butter extract, no syrup needed! i’ve had butter beer at universal studios and they serve it to all ages so you were right to question the rum 😂 also i remember when I drank it it had a carbonated feel, so the cream soda makes sense i think
Tbh, it is british, and we do all get drunk with our friends at like, 15. And people were a lot more lax about it in the 90's/early 2000 so it would make sense that it was alcoholic 😂

Its a bit to far from when you posted this but, the reason why your egg didnt mix with your butter is probably bc your egg was too cold. Let your egg(s) sit out for a bit before using them in baking. :)
that and the bowl, those kinds of mixing bowls will immediately make the butter cold so it won't incorporate! made that mistake with waffles once, and the eggs weren't *cold*

I'm actually in tears laughing at the Tubby Toast. That whole bit was a moment but when the dough was too dry and you just added butter to the dough from the fridge? I lost it 😅 I live for this valiant effort
Msg is actually a naturally occuring thing. It's naturally in a lot of foods from tomatoes to oysters - so don't worry to much about putting a little in your food! Love your videos and hope you're doing well!
It's bad in high amounts as it is more than what is naturally found in foods. But other than that it's just nothing really bad? But like everything too much is bad
I grew up with it in a salt shaker and couldn't figure out why, usually white, friends freaked out about it. I'm still not sure what discourse happened for the west to freak out over MSG?

The thing with MSG, is like all other things: Good in moderation! But also, so far as I was told, the negative campaign against MSG was (at least here in the U.S.) an attack against Asian-Americans. Because it was used in Asian-American restaurants, it was an attempt to scare people into not eating there. It's a bit upsetting. I try to support my local places for this reason.

A candy thermometer is really helpful when doing any sugar stuff like syrups or candies, it helps prevent letting it get to that sort of soft ball thick syrup stage. Also, don’t stir it that much! Let the sugar melt initially pretty much without disturbing it, and be careful not to splash any on the side of the pan, it can crystallize and ruin your whole batch. Also, egg and butter coming together always looks broken like that! It is meant to. Don’t freak out if that happens to you.
I love watching you cook and bake because I can relate to that chaos in the kitchen, unlike the many other youtubers making this process look like perfect and so clean, UNREALISTIC
I literally never comment but I watched you try to make dough so many times and I think I know what exactly is the problem, you just need to mix (kneed) the wet and dry ingredients more before you add any more flour. Be patient and mix it till the dough separates from the walls of the bowl then you can get it out to kneed it on the table surface. Doughs will always look too wet at first but it’s because we didn’t develop any gluten yet, and your dough didn’t rise this time because you added extra flour so the dough is too heavy for the amount of water and yeast you had for the recipe. Hope this helps 💗
This bit. The first result looked perfect. Tiny bit of flour to kneed it but aside from that I don't think it needed much. Pizza dough is kind of a weird consistency compared to some other breads.
This whole Tubby Toast part was such a disaster! The recipe - what was it intended to result in? This is basically a shortbread…which isn’t toast at all. There was only the egg and butter to moisten the dough and no yeast (and no water or milk and sugar to activate yeast in) so it’s not a traditional “bread - toast”. She knows a bit about dough by now. Anyone reading through the recipe would notice that it’s NOT going to be bread for toast. The no yeast part wasn’t a big clue for her? Or the general “this looks and feels nothing like bread dough” vibe?
I have really bad anxiety when it comes to eating and food. So I always look forward to cooking and eating with Naomi. Helps calm my nerves and I don’t feel so alone while I eat.
Tip for the syrup: once everything is combined and melted together, take it off the heat and let it cool down quite a bit, then you boil some water and thin it out with the water til you get the desired consistency 🥰
I once worked as a coordinator for half-day specialty summer camps for kids, and one of them was centered around movies, and each day we would make a recipe based on a dish from a big movie. My absolute fave was Kronk's spinach puffs from Emperor's New Groove. 10/10 do recommend.

Quick advice for the next time you cook sugar/make syrup from a candy maker! Don't stir your sugar, its honestly the easiest thing to just put on heat and leave it. It will rise and bubble and then go bavk down again, when that happens just put a lid on for about a minute. After putting the lid away you can just stand next to it and slowly watch it brown:) You did an amazing job though!!
Funnily enough, I used to work at the Harry Potter studio tour in London (not London if you're from here😂) the queue would go so long for butter beer, and everyone hated it 😂😂😂 the butter beer ice cream was good though 👌

Honestly! This is why I have so much respect for recipe authors and their editors that publish tried and true recipes. Yes the biggest variable in any cooking is the cook themselves, but that's why we minimize possible errors in the way recipes are written or formulated. I'm so happy that Naomi was in a good mood when making the beignets. Big kudos to whoever/wherever she got the recipe from.

I remember wanting to try the teletubby custard so badly. At some point McDonald’s or Burger King or someone came out with a teletubby special kids’ meal. I was sooo excited and took a great big bite of the custard and immediately spat it out. Erstmal: Mal wieder ein geiles Video, danke dafür :) Und außerdem: ich bin Köchin und muss sagen deine Pizza war echt beeindruckend, du hast den Teig genau richtig behandelt und er sah soo gut aus. Und zu den Teletubbi Toast: dass sich die Butter mit dem Ei nicht verbindet ist vollkommen normal. Das liegt daran dass fett und Wasser sich abstoßen. Du müsstest die Butter aufschlagen und die Eier dann unter schlagen nach und nach langsam dazugeben, damit eine Emulsion entstehen kann. Aber selbst wenn du das nicht machst ist das nicht schlimm, da der Teig sich sobald das Mehl dazukommt trotzdem homogen verbindet. Ich wollte das einmal erklärt haben da mir schon öfter in deinen Videos aufgefallen ist, dass dir sowas passiert und du dann völlig verzweifelst. :p Ich hoffe du liest das und wenn nicht ist es auch ok. :D
I wanted to point out that in the books and movies Butterbeer is suggested to be at least mildly alcoholic, so that recipe is probably pretty accurate.

The reason why her pizza sough didn’t rise too much was because she added salt directly to her yeast. You need to add it after the flour, because otherwise, the salt concentrations will hurt or even kill your yeast.
Interesting. Suppose that adding salt directly to yeast would help prevent a yeasty taste though
+ I think she added it in to soon. So whatever did manage to survive would have been beaten away when she mixed it.

BTW, never mix yeast with salt, it deactivates it. Mix yeast in lukewarm with sugar, and let it activate for 10-15m. Then you can add salt when you already mixed the yeast with the flower

a tip for the future: when the egg doesn’t mix with the butter is because of the fat that is on the butter, when you add your other ingredients it will mix!
Could also be that the butter is room temperature/warm and the eggs aren't. If your eggs or butter are too cold it won't mix together.

I mix it with the electric mixer then add the dry ingredients and it's all good , it doesn't have to be a smooth mixture at the beginning

Its a bit to far from when you posted this but, the reason why your egg didnt mix with your butter is probably bc your egg was too cold. Let your egg(s) sit out for a bit before using them in baking. :)
that and the bowl, those kinds of mixing bowls will immediately make the butter cold so it won't incorporate! made that mistake with waffles once, and the eggs weren't *cold*

Msg is actually a naturally occuring thing. It's naturally in a lot of foods from tomatoes to oysters - so don't worry to much about putting a little in your food! Love your videos and hope you're doing well!

The thing with MSG, is like all other things: Good in moderation! But also, so far as I was told, the negative campaign against MSG was (at least here in the U.S.) an attack against Asian-Americans. Because it was used in Asian-American restaurants, it was an attempt to scare people into not eating there. It's a bit upsetting. I try to support my local places for this reason.

A candy thermometer is really helpful when doing any sugar stuff like syrups or candies, it helps prevent letting it get to that sort of soft ball thick syrup stage. Also, don’t stir it that much! Let the sugar melt initially pretty much without disturbing it, and be careful not to splash any on the side of the pan, it can crystallize and ruin your whole batch.
Also, egg and butter coming together always looks broken like that! It is meant to. Don’t freak out if that happens to you.

I literally never comment but I watched you try to make dough so many times and I think I know what exactly is the problem, you just need to mix (kneed) the wet and dry ingredients more before you add any more flour. Be patient and mix it till the dough separates from the walls of the bowl then you can get it out to kneed it on the table surface. Doughs will always look too wet at first but it’s because we didn’t develop any gluten yet, and your dough didn’t rise this time because you added extra flour so the dough is too heavy for the amount of water and yeast you had for the recipe. Hope this helps 💗
This bit. The first result looked perfect. Tiny bit of flour to kneed it but aside from that I don't think it needed much. Pizza dough is kind of a weird consistency compared to some other breads.
This whole Tubby Toast part was such a disaster! The recipe - what was it intended to result in? This is basically a shortbread…which isn’t toast at all. There was only the egg and butter to moisten the dough and no yeast (and no water or milk and sugar to activate yeast in) so it’s not a traditional “bread - toast”.
She knows a bit about dough by now. Anyone reading through the recipe would notice that it’s NOT going to be bread for toast. The no yeast part wasn’t a big clue for her? Or the general “this looks and feels nothing like bread dough” vibe?

Tip for the syrup: once everything is combined and melted together, take it off the heat and let it cool down quite a bit, then you boil some water and thin it out with the water til you get the desired consistency 🥰

Quick advice for the next time you cook sugar/make syrup from a candy maker! Don't stir your sugar, its honestly the easiest thing to just put on heat and leave it. It will rise and bubble and then go bavk down again, when that happens just put a lid on for about a minute. After putting the lid away you can just stand next to it and slowly watch it brown:) You did an amazing job though!!

Honestly! This is why I have so much respect for recipe authors and their editors that publish tried and true recipes. Yes the biggest variable in any cooking is the cook themselves, but that's why we minimize possible errors in the way recipes are written or formulated. I'm so happy that Naomi was in a good mood when making the beignets. Big kudos to whoever/wherever she got the recipe from.

I’m gonna guess that the egg was cold out of the fridge and that’s why it didn’t combine with the butter-a room temp egg and a lot of whisking should fix that for next time :)

I remember wanting to try the teletubby custard so badly. At some point McDonald’s or Burger King or someone came out with a teletubby special kids’ meal. I was sooo excited and took a great big bite of the custard and immediately spat it out. It was so gross to me, I was so devastated 😭😂 Now that I’m an adult I could probably make a bussin custard lol but the dream is gone

Und außerdem: ich bin Köchin und muss sagen deine Pizza war echt beeindruckend, du hast den Teig genau richtig behandelt und er sah soo gut aus.
Und zu den Teletubbi Toast: dass sich die Butter mit dem Ei nicht verbindet ist vollkommen normal. Das liegt daran dass fett und Wasser sich abstoßen. Du müsstest die Butter aufschlagen und die Eier dann unter schlagen nach und nach langsam dazugeben, damit eine Emulsion entstehen kann. Aber selbst wenn du das nicht machst ist das nicht schlimm, da der Teig sich sobald das Mehl dazukommt trotzdem homogen verbindet.
Ich wollte das einmal erklärt haben da mir schon öfter in deinen Videos aufgefallen ist, dass dir sowas passiert und du dann völlig verzweifelst. :p

I wanted to point out that in the books and movies Butterbeer is suggested to be at least mildly alcoholic, so that recipe is probably pretty accurate.
I like how Naomi doesn’t google how to fix the recipe if the process isn’t going the way it should be (ex. if cookie dough not becoming dough) she just WINGS it lol
