    Execution is what makes those moves so satisfying.
    Executing the backwards dragon input to do Fei Long's flaming kick used to be almost impossible for me. When I hit it, I felt like I was winning the match even though I was probably on lower health from failing it before.

    Making inputs easier made certain inputs more annoying. In modern games you can now accidentally input supers so now you have to work around it (in sf4 people would even use a bar so they won’t have full super meter for some characters)

      auto combos in the newest melty blood are the ultimate example of this

      @@lumiere245 I really hate Rapid Beat, it makes doing normals so annoying to do because how easily you can accidentally do the auto combo

    That's how you get Smash. Which the community of still complains about the Shoryuken of the Shotos. It does too much damage and leads to ez kills. Even tho most of them can't even do a raw Shoryuken in training mode (not talking about doing it in an actual match in a combo).

    A problem I see is devs want to market to a wider audience so they're willing to sacrifice some execution, the end result doesn't make the games any easier for less skilled players but takes away some challenge of the higher skilled players. The only solution I see is adding some form of rng to fighters if you have a level of randomness then you don't have to sacrifice execution.
    Take Mario kart 8 for example, there's high execution in knowing the map in and out, shortcuts, drift etc but by nature of having rng items even the most casual of players feels like they have some what of a chance/don't just throw their hands up and quit. I think doa's holds and soul calibur's guard impact are a great way of light rng where even the person on the attack may 2nd guess themselves or play more cautiously. Rng elements are a big reason battle royals became popular in a game like cod it can be super sweaty for less skilled players but depending of your luck in a br you might have a slight advantage over the other player due to loot/items. That's also why smash has always been popular.

      And now I sleep... or well anyway will see what peoples excuse will be for this.. As I do think SF4 is a pretty good example because I dont even try to act like people didnt complain and bitch about DPs all the time in SF4. And it wasnt because of how invincible they were, it was because they were to easy to do, you could just mash it out, and it felt stupid, and then you add in if you had meter to focus cancel blah blah.. it felt like something was to powerful for being simple. Which again I mean a lot of this stuff just goes full circle. So macro example again then you have stuff like fuck these moves were not designed at the time to never be missable and hell you have a good argument they are to good even with the chance of missing them... I dunno why people are so hell bent on not being able to admit there is a problem. What is the solution is another story since again, well fuck what do you do for some of these old games.. Do you try to rebalance them since we have to keep macros in mind if that is the "standard" well if we rebalance them to have a weakness.. now we arent playing the game anymore technically so..
