    Really appreciate hearing those that are not into sound design and being ok with it. If it sounds good, you have fun and time for a nice meal after, bet. Too much pressure on trying be this or that. Just create. Thank you for this.

    Gadget is incredible, if you love the sound of synthesizer music then this is the way to go I absolutely love it, plus I like creating my own instrumentals entirely from scratch, not using loops and samples but actually playing everything yourself

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is pretty much my exact sentiments on why I like gadget so much. And why I think most don’t like gadget because they need or prefer using loops. No shade, just that workflow AINT FOR ME 😎

    • @Jesoteric
      @Jesoteric ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Khordmaster back In the 90s as a teenager I relied on loops because I don’t actually play instruments but now that I am older and have access to some amazing software synths if I’m patient I can usually figure out how to play what I’m hearing in my head well enough to get a good take recorded

    My favourite gadget is the new Fairbanks. And Milpitas. And Montpellier. I guess all of them, though I still need to learn the REX player.
    My top 3 feature requests:
    - remote collaboration features, versioning, like in Splice Studio.
    - a smart way to do anacrusis or pickup-bars instead of adding a whole new row and fidgeting with uneven barcounts
    - be able to record on zurich while controlling external synth with pompei (both physical and on iPad, like in AUM with mosaic and some awesome effects)
    - bonus: a track for the master, like in Garageband. Now if you record automation in the mixer, you are stuck with it and can not edit it.
    - bonus 2: just release all gadgets and the sequencer as Auv3 separates, like on Windows in VST.
    - bonus 3: discounts for owners in one environment for another. Gadget is on iPad, Mac, Nintendo Switch, coming to Oculus Quest and as a collection of VSTs on Windows. Yes, I would like them all. Already own two. But dont want to pay the same as a first time customer.

    Great vid! I’ve been dabbling with Gadget (and Module) on the side for awhile now and it’s workflow pushes my music in a different direction that I enjoy. One thing you stated kinda gave me an “Aha!” moment. The vertical arrangement scheme is initially confusing, but it actually makes WAY more sense in quick part based arrangements. You will have more instruments than parts in your song. The screen real estate (like all screens) favors the width. If you want to see 8 tracks and 4 song parts, you want the tracks to occupy the horizon (the width) and the parts to occupy the vertical (the height). It seems so obvious now, as before it was like “WTF are you doing!?”. Point being, thanks for helping me see the light.

    You've summed up many of my feelings. I've been using Gadget since 2016 and it is my favourite app to make music on, agree about allowing external apps in, there is the midi module but I find it less good to use as I have remember which external app I had it linked to etc.
    I would also love more effects, or effects gadgets that you can route through

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sup! Yeah I think part of what makes gadget so good is that it IS all inclusive and works so well because no other apps can interface/interfere with it... Personally my current thoughts about Gadget would be it would be dope if it had some quality of life improvements such as duplicate pattern. and the ability to change the background to different colors. and I still would like AUV3 support!

  • @blueXrain

    Hello Kevin, cool video Great features enjoyed the video and subscribed and liked 👍 thanks
    Owner of most of the extra gadgets and next I would like the gadgetized Polysix, ARP ODYSSEI and iMONO/Poly.👏
    One thing I could not figure out in Gadget is how to apply the volume fade function to an individual channel!
    Am wondering if there is a fade function for individual channels?
    The fade function almost seems as if to function as automation on master channel.
    The fade function curves the volume of the sound.
    The fade function is applied to all the channels.
    I highly rate Gadget, maybe I missed the single channel fade function ?
    P.S. Korg wish list, maybe KORG will Gadgetize “ ELECTRIBE ” adding it to gadgets compatible list! 😎
    👍

      @@Khordmaster That's another great point about Gadget, it lends itself to a lot of experimentation and because it emulates hardware, users can get educated in a lot of music production concepts without needing to spend thousands of dollars on real hardware.
