Had Smart-strand installed in master and in a few years it had strange matting/wear pattern outside of our master bath & next to the bed. Wasn’t pleased with the wear results. I believe nylon is more durable.
@@CarpetExpertBlueprint have you ever heard of replacing just the padding under carpet? I am pretty sure I can clean my late grandma's carpet in her condo, we don't have the money to get all new carpet, it's a cozy old person's place, it won't look like right with less expensive flooring and after some experimenting with an extractor today, I am certain I can get out the soil and dirt. It's plush and it is in really good shape everywhere *_except_* the padding is just worn flat underneath the the main paths to doorways and hallways... Do carpet pros do that?
I want new carpet in my bedroom. The bed is really heavy/difficult to disassemble/reassemble; you never see it; carpet under bed is brand new/never used, so I want the installer to cut around the bed a U shape. How come they refuse to do that??
I would think it would be risky for installation purposes as they need to stretch the carpeting when installing and then tack it down. You should consider going with hardwood or laminate and then use throw rugs.
