@@waverunner3911 We didn't have the strength in depth. That semi-final with SA we were all patched up. Hadleigh Parkes was playing with a broken hand. World class 1st 15 but the cupboard was bare.
This was Wales year for the world cup win, I have every faith that if they got to the final it would have been the greatest WRC final of all time.
That was 2011. They wrung every last drop of potential out of that 2019 team by achieving what they did.
Compare the team in 2011 to 2019. Compare achievements after as well re: 2012-13 Welsh Grand Slams, Lions tours etc. Wales 2020-22, one six nations but also lost to Italy, fewer Lions, worse performances etc.
@@Mr___Xwales reached number 1 in the world in 2019. We were beset by injuries by the end of the World Cup. If we had found a way to beat South Africa then I would have fancied our chances against England in the final.

whenever i watch these videos i am always struck mainly by one thing - the play of Foxy - he is just so big with the ball in hand - very hard to get down - opens up so many things for other players - imo one of 3 or 4 genuinely world class backs that wales have produced in the last 20 years or so

Wales owe Mr Gatland, so much. He pretty much turned wales from a struggling side, to a competitive contender. Wales from what I can remember have never had this type of squad depth and first choice players. Except fans have their favourites of course.

It was a reciprocal relationship. Gatland surely has gratitude to Wales as well.
What are you waffling about??? The welsh side from 1970's onwards practically dominated world rugby for over a decade. We destroyed everybody. Even in the 1990's and 2000's we were top contenders in the Six Nations and winning constant Grand Slams. 2019 was just one of our many peaks in Gatland's reign. We've had wayyy better choices and squad depth in past squads before. Think before you speak bud and search up the facts.

Wynne, I don't know what it says about me but apart from loving the Wales try compilation I was fascinated by the ad for the 4 prong pipe/drain cleaner! I've had one for 20+ years and they're absolutely a god send when you've dropped that bolt/washer/etc down the back end of a motor! Renovation going well here. Just about finished the inside. 4 air conditioners fitted over the last week! Outdoor/indoor area finished. Kitchen cupboards and counter top ready to finish this week. Last of the windows will be replaced as well. Then, time to clean up and relax. Girls coming January 3rd. Game on!!!
