  • Following an agreement with the copyright holder reproduced here is short film footage of a number of English and Scottish Football grounds taken during the 1979/1981 seasons. The original Cine film was shot in Super 8 format in colour and last approximately 90 seconds the quality is variable. (This version 640x480).
The footage captures the scene in and around grounds revealing the stands and terraces and they are a unique snapshot of crucially how the grounds appeared at the time before some of which disappeared forever or had yet to be redeveloped. Clubs not featured were either never filmed or they refused permsission to film at their ground.
In providing these clips respect respect the copyright holder and do not edit or redistribute any of the footage but links back to this post are fine.
Thanks to the Internet Football Ground Guide for their support.

Fantastic stuff mate, really valuable film. Went there once with spurs , we won 4-1 in the cup. If you have anymore please put them up. Nice one

The ground back then had real atmosphere and people went just to watch a game of football not for glory support.

so how is it glory support nowadays. i think you will find it is the other way round as oldham were sort of, on the way up then. now they dont have much chance against the bigger clubs who are bank rolled. plus i think the atmosphere is better than ever at the moment at BP. i dont think you understand the word glory

I just mean that back in the day it didn't matter how the club was doing you still got high attendances. Now those so called fans have left to go glory support other clubs and not stick with the local home town Club
