I've purchased three Zacklift's including the huge Exporter in the past.....20 plus years ago. I had all three installed at the Cle Elum factory and they are a GREAT UNIT!
I have purchased 2 zacklift exporter units , l had the first one in the uk in 96 and the second2009 still use them both regularly , excellent pieces of kit,!!!!!
That cross member on the back doesn't make since, there would be an inch or less of travel between it and the diff cover. Especially when towing a rig. Although the rest of it was co9
Air suspension is disconnected so truck is already sitting on the bump stops when the cross member is installed. So there is no way for the axle to contact the cross member during operation.
Is it really legal to just cut and weld on the axles in the US? Over here (Germany) police and authorities would shut down that truck immediately if theres no proof for static integrity of that modification and it has to bee done by a certifiied welder...
He just tacked the bolts on the inside of the additional bracket..I didn't see him heat the frame..But its legal if he did..As of about 6 or 7 years ago..they reversed that regulation...The elephant in the room is that these units are not quick connect and defeat the purpose of leaving the fifth wheel..and the biggest design flaw is putting all the weight at the end of the frame on a truck designed to carry the weight between the drive axles..Making the front light and dangerous when towing loaded trucks with trailer and drive and ride like hell..Trying to get another foot forward by removing the rear crossmember proves that...Lol...The right handed guy installing the hoses right to left cracked me up...then bolting the 2 inches of steel together on the 30k rated outriggers and winch with half inch bolts..not butted against...and the airline sizes..1/4 inch would be fine for the service and spring brake line and you'd need 1/2 line to have the volume for a 1 inch impact on the aux air coupler..not working on cars here....maybe blow the dirt out of your mullet...Lol...Contact me or a engineer or veteran towman on the next design please..
Not interested in a permanent tow boom. I'll keep my 19? 5th wheel boom that runs off jumper cables connected with the battery. My next one will have a tag axle mounted on it and hook up like a "Joe dog"

yes , legal. In the heavy category framing is serious about welding.. but all passenger trucks and cars all is welcome. Axles, frames everything.
If it is working in England, it is also good rest of Europe.

Does no one use plasma cutters? What oxygen acetylene?? Too hot. Plasma cutter more efficient and the heat is focused on the cut.
