Hey very nice designs! I just have a question, haven't you thought that maybe it's easier to paint the figures with an airbrush?
We actually do use it but we have a few pointers on that.
1. we want our video's projects to be as accessible to everyone as possible. That's why we limited the amount of 3D printing and airbrushing as possible (since not everyone has these just laying around). Only when it saves us a lot of time but can still be done by hand with the airbrush and if it can not be made any other way with the 3D printer.
2. we do use the airbrush for the bigger surfaces or paints that need a lot of layers to get a good coverage. Mostly because we have not had the chance to invest in a airbrush for smaller areas. And since these parts of the amiibo can get really small at some points it's easier to do by hand then having to go touch-up overspray every 5 minutes.

Random question, are amiibos handmade?? might seem like a dumb question but seriously lmao
Ours are!
But I think you mean more the official ones. It's probably mostly by machine. they have a base colour for the plastic for each of the parts that makes up the amiibo. Then gradients and other details are stamp printed onto the parts as much as possible. And the final details are painted on my hand by workers.
At least that's what I could think of from my knowledge but I have not found any concrete evidence or documentations about it. So, take it with a grain of salt...😅

in Splatoon 2 I was X-rank, but with Splatoon 3 I do not have that much time to play anymore. Especially with the projects I do. I'm currently level 49 and rank B

I think I saw your comment on the Pneuma custom amiibo? Yeah, that sculpt I'm still not happy with. Even with the fact that it was an entire hand-sculpted figure instead of us using existing parts like with these, it was still something I was also not really happy with in the end. So, no harm done here, no worries.
but should we separate the queens, though?
