Never had a rod like these, way too much chrome, we didn't have the money to chrome everything but did great brush work on everything. During the 30's and 40's we bought cars for $150.00, built them in our back yard, grey primed them and drove them.
To be honest I have always preferred the original hot rods more than modern ones. Just a bunch of teens building a car and drive ing it around. I am 14 and I want to build one my self like they did in the 40s-50s but the model b model t and model a all cost $5000 at a minimum and I don’t have that kind of money at the most I would spend $2000 for one.
It is nice to see one of the original hot rodders .

I remember coupes & converts well in the 60s & 70s. But here in NY State they had to have fenders.

Also we ran fast flatheads, in line Jimmies, Arden's, and later started with the first one , the Cad OHV, then Old's then the Chrysler and Dodge V8's. Cheve V8 came latrer
