    I've bought a ton of paper pads, punches, inks, stamps, stickers, project life cards, embellishments and a bunch of other goodies.... and I've seen a hundred videos, and still had no idea where to start! You and your video have inspired me to just go for it!!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!

      Hi Melinda. I was the same way. I was a wonderful consumer of scrapbook supplies but never did any scrapbooking. It's great that it works out that these same supplies can be used in mixed media. Sometimes "going for it" is all it takes to spark lots of ideas. And everything doesn't have to be perfect and beautiful. But everything can lead to learning something and making more beautiful art. :-) I like to joke that I will beat something into submission if I don't like it. Layering was really hard for me to get used to. But in time you realize the worst that can happen is you cover something or start over. So I hope you do "go for it" and I hope you have a blast. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend. :-)

    What stops the cracking when you fold on your fold lines, is to lightly wet the fold lines with a baby wipe. It works great for me. Try it and see if it works for you. I got it from xennero1. She is amazing. It was a really good tip.

    Fascinating! I just watched how you make your inches!! Never seen either of these...I've seen cute mini cards decorated like your mini album, but i've never seen this! This is too cool~! I can think of fun stuff to put in them. Pictures being the fav! And you could mini scrapbook the pages around the photos with really sheer ogura papers and some dry brushing of inks or light watercolor. If I make one of the i'm going to do that first! These would be nice to hold ephemera and other thin flat collaging items. Glue a thin ribbon to both sides of the open ends to tie it securely. Keep them in and safe. Collectors of concert and movie ticket stubs would be perfect for these. Or storing the small cuttings from greeting cards we like. Endless possibilities! Thank you for sharing!!..:) You do cute stuff!

      +elkeartsandcrafts Elaine Jones Hi Elaine. :-) Thank you, I am glad you like them. Well, I don't know what I did wrong then because I did score the paper. I pre scored before the video to save time and it still broke. :-( Someone told me they dampen their heavier paper so that might work. The next time I make some little books I will try that. Thanks so much for watching and taking time to comment. :-)

    Hi I make alot of these ...great gifts ! I use at 2 1/2 in strip of coordinating cardstock score in about a an inch on each side leaving 1/2 inch I use this as my binding I use very sticky double-sided tape on the edge of each side helps cover up any mistakes on the hinge and makes the hinge a little stronger

    Love this tutorial. You did a great job. One sugestion you might try scoring all folds. I believe that would fix the cracking problem. Score all folds first. The 6 inch abd 2 inch, then use your bone folder to press folds down. Also, i realize they are a lot more expensive but I believe an actual teflon bone folder would be better. Keep up the great job. I look forward to seeing more tutorials from you!!

      Thank you Lori. :-) I liked them that way too. I needed a place to keep them until I mailed them so I grabbed this basket. I'll find another use for it. :-)

    Hi Laurie! Cute little booklet. I'm thinking that you may be able to glue the side and bottom of the center pages ( the ones that are glued back to back) and turn them into pockets! Insert a small tag with a cute ribbon and these can be used for journaling! Just a thought.... Love all your videos and thanks for sharing! Abi 😊

    Do you score the paper before folding in half? Scoring the folds first is suppose to stretch the paper fibers. You then fold the side where the score is a valley. I notice the two folds you made after scoring didn’t crack.

    • @BlackbearyForest
      @BlackbearyForest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, it's been so long since I made these that I really don't remember but I think I remember scoring some but I might not have scored each time. I'll have to re-watch the video when I can. Thank you for letting me know what you noticed though. Next time I do anything like this I will try scoring the paper first. :-) Have a great New Year!!! :-)

    Lightly watered paper towel very lightly and rub it on the paper first where you going to fold it up and it will help it bend so it doesn't crack

    This video came up in my recommended list.....love the idea of these mini albums. I can't help but wonder.....as much as I love & use my score board, that if instead of folding--if everything was scored then folded and burnished with a bone folder....the "breaking" of the paper could be avoided? I may try it and let you know my results....it might not make any difference. 🤔🤔

    • @BlackbearyForest
      @BlackbearyForest  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi :-) This video is old so I had to take a look to see if I did any scoring and bone folder using. lol I did score the paper and burnish with the bone folder (off camera but I checked the transcript and I did say that is what I did) but the paper still broke so I have no idea if it was just that particular paper or if I did something wrong. I haven't made any since then to try out other papers. Do let me know what happens when you make some. I'd love to hear how it goes for you. There are other tips in the comments about wetting the paper first etc. but I don't worry about it and just go with the flow. lol Hope you have good luck. I look forward to hearing how it goes. Thanks so much for watching. :-)

      The things I use have come from many places and I have been doing some sort of sewing or art for over 30 years. I would say most things came from places like Michaels or Hobby Lobby or online. When my mom passed away I wound up with a lot of her things too.
