  • Native Bees and Other Pollinators: Why are they important and how can we help them?
Have you ever wondered what kind of bees are visiting your flowers? What do they look like and how important are they to our local flora and fauna? Join Glenn Perricone of the DuPage Forest Preserve and Jim Kleinwachter of The Conservation Foundation as they discuss native bees and pollinators and the role that our backyards and communities can play in helping them by planting pollinator gardens.
In this webinar, we also recognize two local park districts that are protecting native bees and butterflies with new habitat and increasing community awareness of the plight of pollinators. Connie Schmidt of the DuPage Monarch Project tells us about the Lisle Park District's Oak Regeneration Project and about the Fox Valley Park District offering diverse educational programs and hands-on opportunities for learning about beneficial insects.
