The Jagannath Temple in Badamba is situated inside the campus of Badamba palace and governed by the royal family. There three other temples along with the Jagannath temple. The main temple was believed to be built in the 16th century followed by Gopinath and Rashvihari (both Lord Vishnu). The statue of Lord Jagannath is 5ft 7in tall making it one of the tallest in the state of Odisha.
The temple authorities follow all the rituals in line with the Puri Jagannath Temple. The art and sculpture of the Gopinath temple is astounding and carved in every corner of the outside walls. Since the temple premises is at close to the foot of a hill, the beauty of this place enhances and it gives you a feel good factor being there.
There are so many festivals observed here by the people and the king. The cart festival (Rath Yatra) is celebrated every year.
