My friends and I grew up as teenagers in the 1970’s and we would only buy clothes in natural fabrics! We still don’t like polyester preferring cotton, silk and wool, and adopting new fabrics like tencel, bamboo and hemp. I don’t wear acrylic sweaters at all even though they are so soft. We thrift like we did back then and occasionally sew and knit! I enjoy your channel so thank you for sharing your thrifting hauls!
Great finds, tips and judgement! I too had a lucky thrift day today: two great pairs of jeans and a vintage Fossil purse in a gorgeous leather and minimalist design I’ve never seen. One of those 'angels singing' treasure finding moments when you locate a piece that’s going to give you a style boost and serve you well for years!
If you want to test your mugs/kitchenware for lead, you can get lead testing swab kits at most home hardware stores. One think to look out for is if there are chips and cracks which will expose the lead, especially if an item is used for heated and acidic foods and beverages. Sometimes the lead is in the paint and as long as the glaze is covering it and it's on the outside, an item could be okay, but sometimes the glaze itself has lead in it. I hope this is helpful. When in doubt, lots of cute vintage stoneware items can also make great vases and planters in stead of using then for food/beverages. 💖

Hi Rebecca. Happy Canada Day. What a perfect sweater for today. Which locations did you go to? The stuff there looks amazing. I love love love those clogs - and to be made in Sweden!! How cool is that??? I am on the hunt for clogs. I just can't seem to find any. I once found 1 clog and I think someone hid the other one. I searched everywhere - high, low, behind, and inside but it was very well hidden. So the search continues. One day I shall find some but they won't be from Sweden. I find that Dawn dish soap removes stains quite effectively. It's gentle also. I don't know what chemicals are in it but it sure works good. I thought that the brown cashmere pullover is gorgeous. Simple yet elegant and classy.
