Thank you so much I knew I wasnt tripping I'm 28 weeks used a stethoscope it sounded like swooshing every few seconds I'll hear a pop after hearing the swooshing for a while I was hearing the baby moving insted of heart beat I was getting scared lol
The whooshing sound however is not always the placenta. It can also just be your arteries pumping blood through your body. I’m not pregnant but have the “placenta” sound in 3 places next to my heart beat. Two on either side closest to my hips and one just slightly down and to the right of my belly button.
I’m at 16 weeks right now and baby’s heartbeat doesn’t sound galloping like that! It sounds more like it always has, even though I know she’s grown to at least 13 weeks at the 13-week ultrasound. Are you sure that’s the 16-week sound? Or is that from a higher-end Doppler? That is VERY vigorous compared to what I hear…
I see this was a couple years ago but just for anyone reading this- this is perfectly normal. The galloping is just when the Doppler is catching the rhythm *right* on the heart. The baby moves around so much so it’s normal if you don’t always catch the galloping sound, which is directly from baby’s heart and valves. Perfectly normal to only catch the whooshing which is the baby’s blood flow and/or pumping sound via placenta
Physicists have said for a long time now that we humans are made of nearly 100% supernova, and other things of that nature, so it is especially interesting and ironic that the sound of the heartbeat and bloodflow of the fetus is (in some ways) similar to pulsating neutron stars.
I’m having the same experience but I’m unaware of what the lady means by ‘maternal sounds’ as mine both sound like this. And I’m worried. I know you posted this a year ago so did you have one or two babies lol xx

U lucky, how didit go?
Extremely helpful video. There is so much false information of the different sounds. Love all the clear examples.
“Maybe your baby is waving at you! Or trying to get more comfortable!”
“Or saying fuck off with the poking because it’s trying to get some rest!”
Thank you so much for the video. Saved people from panic.
Omg I'm crying

I missed this moment . I watch this video to hear a baby's heartbeat . Congrats to soon to be parent 😇😇😇
Fun fact: the original aura sound for the Super Saiyan transformation is actually an altered version of this sound

Wow
How can you tell the difference
This is actually how the sound designer for DBZ came up with the sound for a super saiyans aura.
Especially the sounds at 0:37

Hi. They sound somewhat similar to the sound of movement. So definitely nothing like the baby's heartbeat or placental sounds.
Well an example or two please? will help tell the difference. :)

Maybe yours is the 2nd or an echo? Or twins lol
Umbilical cord has a heartbeat too, maybe you caught the heart and the cord. And if you’re having twins, double the blessing 🥰

And to think some baby-killing people don't consider these sounds to belong to a human being. 😡
Shut up
All mammals have a heartbeat
That's kinda dangerous because of the echos that can hurt the baby if your doing this to yourself every single time it's best to leave to the doctors
🙄
Ultrasound is safe and doesn't effect baby
Please don't spread misinformation if you don't really know about what you're talking about. Ultra sounds are completely safe for babies
