    Beautiful television! If you haven’t already, you might wanna go back in and check/resolder the Horz drive transformer connections. Also check around the STR regulator area, incredible find man!

    I’m in NC and your house looks like it could be in my neighborhood. I have a smaller atomic ranch and I love orange too. You’ll have to reach out when you get settled in.

    Hey Matt, I'm a big fan of the early Betamax players. I was a teenager in 1975. Graduated high school. I have bought a 7200 Betamax the first stand alone one that I wanted back in the day. But It cost over a thousand dollars back them. I have it now with the clock timer. I am just wanting a couple of the original blank tape to go with it. K30 or K60. I seen you had a big box of them. Would I be able to purchase one or two from you. I can't find them anywhere. It would make my collection complete. Please, Please consider. I will pay top dollar for them. Thanks, Your video's are awesome...Gary

    Excellent video. Thanks for your patience and honest method in fault finding. Ive worked as an electronic engineer for over 20 years with mostly modern digital equipment but ive got a real affinity and interest in old electronics like CRT TVs and 8-16 bit games consoles. Ive recently bought a working mega drive gen 1 and a mitsubishi CP-1627BM just to clean up and maybe upgrade with some new capacitors etc if needed. Any solid advise for me starting out this hobby in regards to equipment spare parts and sourcing repair manuals for old electronics? I live in the UK.

      It’s always good to get a refresher on discharging the high voltage, too. I’m still working up the courage to do it myself for the first time.

    Given how many were bad and how relatively few there are, I'd just replace them all, that thing is beautiful, but opening it up to repair it all the time with that long thin neck and giant neck board would make me nervous. Never seen the inside of a CRT TV so clean.

    Hello Matt, I love your content. I was hoping that you could help me with some issues that I have with my Video Cassette Recorder. If it's no trouble for you.
    I have the JVC HR-2200U Video Cassette Recorder, and it’s fully functional, I can watch tapes with no problems. The only issue is when I want to record with it. I’m using a Panasonic WV-3060 Color Video Camera, which works because I can see an image through the viewfinder and when I press the camera’s trigger switch the recording starts and the tape advance. The REC and PLAY indicators are lighting, so I assume that the recording is taking place. But when I rewatch the tape to see what I recorded, nothing appears. I have no image that has been recorded or sound. Do you know what may be the problem and how to fix it? I appreciate a lot your answer and help!

      Cool tv,I keep a floor console in the basement so the kids can play duck hunt and I have it on a antenna so I can watch the rockford files and Quency M.E. . Most people don't get but I like watching the old shows and movies on a tube,especially the annual holiday stuff like Friday the 13 and Halloween every year

      Fully recapping a crt is time consuming, I have done it on my Toshiba 27AF44, I didn't see major inprovement from replacing the problematic caps to the full recap

    you skipped the cold solder part. So am not impressed.

    • @vintagevideobasement
      @vintagevideobasement 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never actually saw the cold solder. I reflowed the vertical deflection part of the board, and the intermittent failure was resolved. I forgot to film that part too. It’s a hassle to set up the camera in multiple locations and film yourself while you just want to get the job done. I’ll work to show more details in the future. Thanks for the comment.
