I have a ps5 and I replaced the hdmi port all looks good pins soldered well but when connected the tv acknowledges the console but I get the no signal message on the tv. I tested the little filters from the controller chip and no break in connection also measured for a short around said chip no short. Anyone can help? Thank you for all the work you put into this channel!
Do you have any videos on NO IMAGE after the port has been replaced and the encoder is good and the transit 15jl is good and the Diodes are good,??? Yes I've done EVERYTHING and still no image
have you tried combining liquid metal with thermal paste? you could end up with a happy medium. easy to apply with acceptable thermal characteristics. Don't discount it before trying it.
Not a good idea. If the paste is Aluminium based the liquid metal that is gallium based will react forming an amalgam that will ruin your day. Go and watch what gallium does to Aluminium pans.
On this LG TV you've got an issue with LVDS, might need a COF bonding, Phil. You need a special soldering iron for that - just by the way ;). And your vertical line would be gone if it's not a cracked screen. And, thank you for this video ;) just by the way :D.
Phil I have a couple of old PS4 consoles laying here needing HDMI repair, would I be able to send them to you. They’re on low firmwares as haven’t been on in about 2 years
Hi, I did search but found nothing on your channel, could you show us what you use to stream? My kids want to start off streaming gaming but i have no idea what's good and what to use for multi inputs like console + camera + mic etc :)
Hey mate, for multi inputs I use a standard hdmi splitter with HDCP removal (required for capturing the PS4 screen). I also use an elgato camlink 4k which I hook up via USB to my computer to capture different displays, and then a high end gaming laptop to actually run the stream. The cameras I use are all Logitech Brio 4k, and the mic I use is a Røde wireless go, which is a clip on lavalier mic. All in all I'd say my setup cost a couple of grand, if I include £900 for the laptop, £350 on cameras, £100 on lighting, £250 on the microphone, £80 on the elgato capture card and the other accessories the cost can add up quickly
@@TheCod3r Yeah i know you can spend some serious £££ on stuff :) was more interested on how you handled the multiple inputs from different sources. Also what software do you use, i've got a spare machine ready to go :)
@@buckhobbit ah fair enough, for the multi inputs just a standard HDMI splitter is fine but if you're using it for a PS4 you'll either need to disable HDCP before you hook it up to the capture card or use a splitter with a built in HDCP remover. Personally I have to use the HDCP remover because I need to test customer consoles that don't usually have HDCP disabled :) For software I use OBS which is free :)
Could I send you my ps5 for repair? I tried to solder on a new hmdi port and I thought I succeeded, but still no video. Maybe the chip is broken or I overheated something of the little Komponents, I really don't know an I would rather let it fix than again trying, it was quite hard for me to do and also my first time with such small peaces. I would love to see a video on that and how you can solve the problem!
Good job! I really like your tech repair videos which proof anything is fixable! I am trying to learn soldering, however the local tech guy in my neighberhood is unprofessional and skips a lot of essential parts of soldering, can you please make a video teaching how to solder properly or recommend me a professional video on TH-cam! Thanks! #RightToRepair
So another tech installed an HDMI port, and either damaged a pad, or there was one already missing and they didn't notice it? Doesn't sound like a very competent tech (whoever worked on it before you, not you obviously).
Pretty much mate, the pad could have been torn during initial port damage, pin 19 is very common for damage but who knows, it could've been the other tech too lol
The one he did on the livestream yesterday had a new port installed but the chip wasn't soldered properly, you think they would check their work before going to the expense of sending it to someone else
You do all of these teardowns with a manual screwdriver. You must have the grip strength of Zeus. My wrist is hurting by the end of one PS5 if I don't use my electric.
Or you could watch his videos on the XBox's that have failed and stop being a fanboy idiot. A damaged HDMI port is usually caused by the owner. Honestly grow up.
You my friend are a wizard with pcbs
Thank you bud :)
I love how much detail you go into.... It makes watching and understanding what your doing a more enjoyable. Thank you so much for the video
Thanks again Phil. Great job as usual
Long shift last night Phil, up and at it again
Haha yep gotta be done mate, all part of the early retirement plan 😂
Just checked the footage Phil. That cover around the APU was never there mate. You hadn't lost it, probably the last Technician did.
Yeah I know mate I asked him he said he takes them off, let's just say I wasn't happy:(
I like how you fix all your consoles professionally
Thank you :)
Nice work Phil, great video 👍👍👍
Cheers Vince appreciate it mate
Great work mate 👏🏻👏🏻👊🏻
I love what you do
keep these videos coming and keep the great work
Thanks very much, I appreciate the support :)
Love the vid as always, Phil. Keep up the great work and best wishes from the States!
Thanks, will do :)
What if there is a signal but bkack screen saying 720p but no menus and no safe mode menus?
@ 12:59 thought that cap was on the wrong side lol
Haha nah the cap connects between pin 17 and 18 (ground and 5v) :)

The cap next to the hdmi port. Is it 201 0.1uf? Great job fixing another technician mistake.
I believe it is but I can get readings on my own board when I map out the hdmi circuit in a few days 😁
I love love to watch u work I will like to lurn I from Barbados 👍mate nice work

I would try but not on a customer console, it would have to be on my own lol

I have a xbox one s digital it turns on and off after 30 seconds no xbox screen you think it could be the hard drive
Very likely mate yes, try swapping the hard drive and reinstall the software and it should work 💪
you already have a couple of donor ps5 boards!!!? thats crazy. I cant even buy a working one!
Yeah I have boards that another technician messed up lol
Sure you can, I don't know anyone that genuinely wanted a PS5 that doesn't have one.
thumb nail looks like a row of portaloos

Ello ello mate
damn you need ask more cash for ps5, just take it apart long time
Haha yeah these are a bit of a nightmare to take apart
Do u got ps5 for sell
Wait! Where is Jason?
Probably sleeping , as i should be
Yeah very likely asleep mate, he isn't used to me posting videos at 3am 😁
Sony really doesn't want their console to be repairable. I can't wait for the EU self repair laws. Great repair btw!
Sony putting out crap! Everything should work for a few years minimum! Sony ripping you off!.... To the smart people go xbox!
