Love your solo, built from the start with patience and developed with interconnecting ideas. It flows beautifully without trying too hard. Bravo Noah, you’re on a very good path of musical expression. 🔥
Your improvisation is beautiful! Your tone and phrasing are uniquely your own and I love the occasional harmonic episodes away from the form...wow! Very much appreciated..thank you Noah!
Well done Noah! A good teacher and a good player! I have a tiny question for you: Have you ever met Dan Nimmer and if you have, what do you think of him? Also, how many pianos/keyboards do you have?😂 thanks Noah, Leon
I once did this tune for my piano exam, I'm glad you guys did it too. I like your interpretation and how you built your solo up to the top. I saw so many stuff you teach in it, you are great at playing and still precisely teaching what you play. Thanks man!
Hi noah new subscriber here!any chance you can do cocktail piano tutorial and tips?i wanted something that i can olay the whole night to my friends family
Enjoyed that - lots of Brad in there. Possibly could be a little more dynamic variation in the drums - as happens at the end but hey I’m nit picking. Really tasty performance all round.
This piece is very sad, melancholy, dark,I hate it when these, overachiever type wanna be jazz musicians butcher up a great piece of music like this ,there's so many other bossa nova tunes to play with if you wanna go bright and happy with the tone, this joint here is just out of touch 🤖
@@NoahKellman Moto E cellphone, certainly not the best audio, but that's not issue. I didn't get the construction of the piece w respect to lyrics / emotion. I didn't hear the story through your harmonic potential, for which we all have an extremely high regard.
There is 'the' story obviously on a cursory read of the lyrics, and then there's anyone's personal range on that situation, which would include yours. After I listened to your Livestream on Chick Corea I went back and listened to many different versions of Matrix. Well you set a high bar there and I don't mean as 'sounding like', I mean as able to understand, integrate and make your own. What you did there was amazing. That's a potential you demonstrated -- and consequently will be held to, imo. Yes, maybe I'm insensitive.
@@bradforddavis6497 I hear you! Appreciate the feedback. In terms of listening, yeah I think on the phone symbols tend to take up a lot of sonic space because you hear so much treble, but certainly mix could have been better!
@@NoahKellman I gave it another listen and like your playing but the tempo and overall effect, no. Say just me, ok. It's a very tough tune in terms of competition. Start w Frank and Carlos Jobim on the '67 Reprise date and note the title. "Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim". That right there should strike fear. Then Tony's '67, Oscar '67, Astrud Gilberto, more recordings than we can count. Diana Krall, '06, Dexter Gordon, Sting, Pat Matheny (check his drummer), Stacy Kent has a beautiful version. Elaine Elias. On and on it goes. So now it's 2021 and Noah stands On the Shoulders of Giants. Steven Hawking wrote a book w this title. He starts w Copernicus who through decades of studying the night sky and the pure invention of a field of mathematics still relevant today, known as Differential Geometry (a graduate level math course) proves in the 15th (16?) century, the Sun not the Earth is at center of the solar system, and indeed it is a solar system. Hawking then goes on to Galileo, Kepler, Newton,.., Einstein in chronological order. They don't talk about, 'Do math like Copernicus'. They study and master the predecessors. And they build. And that construction will continue for as long as there is a human race. So for me this is an incongruous situation. Noah can deconstruct Art, Oscar, Bill, Chick (and likely others of whom I'm not aware) w exceptional, deep, fascinating and useful insights; and shares these in a truly outstanding and generous fashion. So for me, this arrangement does not demonstrate a similar appreciation for the chronology of the piece. And this could be wrong. Nor do I hear the innovation from.the trio as a whole, I want or expect from a young leader and pianist of his talent, who indeed has studied, can demonstrate and teach the genius of our predecessors as well as he does. Now if I didn't have the highest regard for what I see and hear in Noah, I wouldn't take the time here. So don't call me insensitive. I'm like a little baby sensitive.

We all just gonna ignore that Corey Fonville is on drums?
Haha right? Corey is too good.

Great ! But please tune the Piano ... :-(
Good, man...but could use more bass! :)
Probably just your headphones, mine are not bassy at all and had no problems with the lower midrange and bass volume

Tempo too high, too much drums. Bring Noah Harmonics.
Out of curiosity, what are you listening on?
