    Absolutely loving these videos! Just two martial artists willing to mutually learn together! They’ve become better learning different skills and not tearing them down either. Perfect video!

    Really enjoyed watching this Wing Chun & Boxing martial arts exchange. The self defence sparring highlighted some really good counters for both. Good practical demonstration from both practitioners 👏. And thanks for sharing!

    Put these guys in a phone booth, or dark environment, and Wing Chun has the advantage. If a guy is dancing around like this boxer, I would run away from the fight. You see boxing is designed for sparring, competition. In a real situation if dances like this, I would leave. Avoid the fight.

      Isny there a danger of hurting your fingers when punching hard targets? That's why I like wing chuns weapons like the knife hand and palm strikes. Not to mention the elbows.

    Many similar principles, especially Philly Shell, Peak A Boo systems - along with the styles of Lomachenko, George Foreman, and Jack Dempsy. The best art to pair with Wing Chun is Muay Thai, with an emphasis on Thai Plum (The Clinch System). Likewise, Muay Thai is always elevated by great Boxing. Everything works in Harmony inside the body of a person with a good mind for principles and concepts.

    Thankyou, I think the video was very informative and looked like fun. Great to demonstrate strentghts and weaknesses and nice to see you're not just going at each other as this would only demonstrate on a personal level who may be the better when it comes to self defence. Great mutual respect and a good video from you both. I think what some may misunderstand is that this was not a demonstration of All of your talent and techniques (both of you), but rather it was structured and a tutorial to show/teach just some of the techniques and differences. Kudos to you both.
    Both Wing Chun and Boxing incorporate footwork and different striking, moving, patterns and counters, parrying and other techniques. To become great at one form of self defence you must try to understand and practice the others.

    This is why boxers just knock kung fu clean out. Then they have the ordasity to charge money. And who said boxers carnt use kicks and elbows and knees and head buts and fingers and ground fighting on the street. Yes in the ring. But not on the street my friend. Be open minded

    Wing Chun was designed for the street, in street environment- Dark allies, dark bars, uneven terrain, etc. Boxing was designed for the ring, controlled environment. Using your eyes to see a punch from close distance is not effective. That is why Wing Chun uses arms to feel. This works even in dark environment. Boxing relies on footwork, evasiveness, that may not be practical in the street.

    • @aaronkloosterman
      @aaronkloosterman ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good sentiment. I believe that boxing is only the most effective striking skill when you are faced with others incapable of fighting with their whole body and not just the hands. As a boxer i don't really know how to handle a high kick or a double leg takedown effectively, but in strictly hand-to-hand boxing could be argued as, if not the most effective, the most powerful of striking arts.
