I like both versions, but I definitely prefer Jesse's. Leona's version sounds like she is trying to make sure the whole world hears her declare her love and defend it, but Jesse's version feels more intimate. His sounds more like him reassuring and comforting his partner directly in a quiet spot. He doesn't care if anyone else hears, he doesn't care about anyone else in the slightest, all he needs is the love they share. I'm glad Leona made the song as popular as she did since it deserved the love, but I wish Jesse would record and release his version officially.

I love both versions. Leona’s version has more of a powerful vocal range that just captivates every listener and emotion. Jesse’s version is more pop. The chorus he showed the most emotion that changed the mood of the song. I enjoy both versions of the song. Do I have a favorite? No, because I think both versions have a lot of strengths.

I went to one of his concerts and my mom was shocked when he sang this, so I explained how he was the one who wrote this song. It made me fall in love with him more when I found out and he was my first crush.

It’s no regrets! Songwriters get more royalties than the singer. For every radio play, a songwriter gets paid, the singer makes ZERO. A singer and songwriter are like any business. The singer is the salesman and the writer is the producer. The writer makes the money and needs a good salesman (singer) to make them money. So allowing Leona to sing it will make more money for Jesse and his estate. Royalties forever!!
I love both versions. Leona’s version has more of a powerful vocal range that just captivates every listener and emotion. Jesse’s version is more pop. The chorus he showed the most emotion that changed the mood of the song. I enjoy both versions of the song. Do I have a favorite? No, because I think both versions have a lot of strengths.
