OK after stumblin on to these guys about 6 hours ago, I have listened to ACTs I and II, back to Back while reading up on them... I have come to the conclusion that "Theese guys" are Fucking Badasses! It is such a delight to see a band shine light on the dismal state of modern music. Now if they will only come back to the Northwest.
Climb. Climb. Climb to the top of the world. And as you stand tall, you will see... That when you fall... You will fall from aheight most men will never reach.
Dear Protomen, if you know what's good for you, give Gambler more time in the spotlight. I had never heard Hold Back the Night before, and *holy shit!* It was the best sounding song in the entire set!
I first saw these guys in Worcester. The sound sucked, the crowd was dead, it was overpacked, and it was hot. I hated it, needless to say. I was worried one of my favorite bands was just a gimmick. They weren't any good...but then I saw them at PAX East 2013. My faith was restored. With the proper setup and not a shitty little mini-theater and a crowd that wants to see them, they're AMAZING. They sounded fantastic.
"So kiss me fast 'cause there's no time to lose. Baby I swear I comin' back for you If I die don't blame yourself we all do what we think is right I'm breakin' out of here tonight."
omg I never knew this existed xDDD I was at that concert and actually caught Killroy (dressed at Protoman) when he fell back. All my video from this sounded awful cause I was right in front near all the speakers. Thank GOD for this xD such a good set!
to anyone who have not seen them live. it is so intense. the amount of passion they give with their performance. you feel it just fill you up and take the crowd over. One of the best performances i have ever seen
Hands down. This is one of the most powerful and energetic Live acts ive ever seen. RAW POWER. Protomen is absolutely Overpowering. just love these guys so much
This was an amazing concert. I was Enforcing right in front of the stage, got marracas around me and tapped by the guitar when he was jamming in front of the camera the first time. You can see my hair from time to time on camera :P
No, the ideals behind Act I are supported by the fact that the sound is more acoustic, crackly and violent. it's a land after the the bomb dropped. Act II has a very clean sound because it's a much younger place, pre bomb
It sounded so good being there! They were the last band to play. I don't know how the others would be able to play after that performance to be honest lol.
So have I, but if you look at Protoman in this show the helmet mic isn't plugged in but there is a portable mic cord that you can see running up to the helmet.in the same manner as Kilroy's
love how the crowd knows all the lyrics and exactly where to come in!
I like the part where he says he's going to light up the night.

But you still fall. *And you're still dead.*
I love the guy that goes "I'VE WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS" when Light Up the Night starts, lol
Shame these guys weren't around in the 80s. They'd have slayed up.
They would have done more than slayed up. They would be considered GODS by now.
+dorkandproudofit Mate, they ARE gods
There will never be another band with as much heart as these beautiful bastards here
43:25 XD "I've been waiting my whole life for this!"
The Protomen are still the best damn live show. Never seen a band and a crowd with more energy.
You don't know very many bands
Spacialvekter then you don't know how awesome this band is
Spacialvekter but then again you are a kid so I don't expect you too understand
What? I was complementing them. I love the Protomen.
Spacialvekter I wasnt doing that I was talking to the other guy TH-cam just screwed up
This might be the best live performance I've ever seen. The end of The Sons of Fate in this one, Breaking Out, holy shit.
Dear Protomen, if you know what's good for you, give Gambler more time in the spotlight.
I had never heard Hold Back the Night before, and *holy shit!* It was the best sounding song in the entire set!
Turbo Lover should also get more attention.
it's a pity he doesn't
I wish even half of the "real" bands I listen to had this much energy on stage.

I'm jealous that you were there! They are amazing!
Jone Nascimento I'm sad they won't be at PAX East, but since it's because they'll be on the Warped Tour, I'm okay with it! Exposure!
I saw them live this week....best concert ever....they have gotten even better over the years. Just WOW!!!
That sheer force.
That was one hell of an spectacle.
I saw these guys at denver comic con. Man, its like they are everything I love about the eighties, wrapped in a spicy burrito. And it is delicious...
this video is the first time i have listened to protomen and i got to say wow they are awsome easily one of my favourite bands now
Kevin Richardson you need to see them live. your life will change.
Final projects are due soon. Time to get motivated.
-Commander, sometime in 2005

Hold Back the Night is breathtaking. More of this!
Hands down. This is one of the most powerful and energetic Live acts ive ever seen. RAW POWER. Protomen is absolutely Overpowering. just love these guys so much
HOPE RIDES ALOOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!
Love this band so much
omg the voice is awesome! great band!
God its so great to hear the crowd, especially when they're singing the crowd parts
It's cool how they occasionally change things, update lyrics, etc.
I love The Protomen. They are amazing live!
This city's dead, but even now there is hope for Man.
Meeting the reanimator was the coolest thing ever, he's such a bro, along with everyone else :)
This was an amazing concert. I was Enforcing right in front of the stage, got marracas around me and tapped by the guitar when he was jamming in front of the camera the first time. You can see my hair from time to time on camera :P
Going to see these guys again this Friday, and I am totally watching this performance again for the purpose of hype.
No, the ideals behind Act I are supported by the fact that the sound is more acoustic, crackly and violent. it's a land after the the bomb dropped. Act II has a very clean sound because it's a much younger place, pre bomb
Everything about them reminds me of the 80s
Anthony Lopez They seem to love the 80s too, Megaman being an 80s game really fits ;)
Thank you for posting this! The quality is amazing.
It's a "reimagining" and a rock opera masterpiece. But, yes. More inspired by than a literal interpretation of the canon.
I really wish the riffs from the live performances were in the CD of Hope Rides Alone.
It sounded so good being there! They were the last band to play. I don't know how the others would be able to play after that performance to be honest lol.
So awesome...
18:39 That. That is beautiful
They should make an Act 1: Remastered using new versions of the songs plus fade to Phil (Due Vendetta extended!)
Man... the pageantry and the intensity. Not to mention the awesome music. I really need to see them if they come up Philly way again.
Hahaha! Do you remember standing next to big bald dude with a video camera?
panther playing flaminco is one of my favorite things
Holy shit im getting goose bumps from watching this.
Act 3 when
Right after Half-Life 3
@@Novous That should mean it's coming up real close then, if Valve can count to three then the Protomen can too!
They said they’ll beat Avatar 2, so 2021
I want KILROY to sing You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch.
What are the alternate lyrics he sings in Breaking Out?
21:52
something like "by god don't play me, I never wanted things this way"?
JoeKerrMarx "by God don't hate(?) Me we all do what we think is right"
Jesus man, they completely killed it. Wish I could've been there.
These are coming to Warped. Getting hyped.
dang- i thought at the end (with the panflute) they were gonna do the song from the manhunter soundtrack...
saw them in la, at the echoplex, they were great
Please come to swiss :) we wait
17:17 brought tear to my eye. So good :)
Loved the closed visor, more of a Break Man vibe going there for me.
the gambler is STILL A THREAT
"Hold Back the Night". Goddamn, Gambler.
33:50 that demented grin...
Cartoon villain MUCH-? XD
0:21:55 - what is Panther saying?
Coming to Savannah in October!
Such a powerful song.
love it!
11:00 Say it with me, everyone:
"Hope rides...."
So why didn't they give protoman a microphone for when they started singing?
*****
Thats a pretty bad mic then. You can barely hear his voice.
Waco Tablet He wasn't using the mic in the helmet, he had a a portable one like the one Kilroy uses.
So have I, but if you look at Protoman in this show the helmet mic isn't plugged in but there is a portable mic cord that you can see running up to the helmet.in the same manner as Kilroy's
They are our hope...
Popular in the Mid-West, that's for sure. Play First Avenue next time instead of 7th Street Entry. You deserve it.
Someone wanna write a song list? please?
Why don't these guys come to BGS? Damn.
I will tell the story of how real Protoman got stabbed by a Keytar for dissing The Protomen to my children as they sleep
Sounds MUCH better than their live Queen tribute album :)
Truly fucking amazing
How the fuck is this dude not singing for Queen right now?
Fucking fantastic
*We are the dead.*
Oh right, thanks. I just couldn't quite understand it!
can i hire kilroy to be my personal hype man
When he sings he sounds like a combo of Bruce Springsteen and Elvis.
the sound guy really fucked up
13:14 GET DOWN FROM THERE, REANIMATOR
Dat Reanimator cam.
Oh, silly me xD
Too bad i live so far away.
So this is more "inspired" by Mega Man than really being about it.
JoJo McJoJo it's more like a really dark and gritty retelling of the original megaman story.
the lighting is horrible, but cool video.
@23:08 spits at guitar player
LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!!!!
