One correction: The Analogue Productions 45rpm release of Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus was mastered by Kevin Gray. So then, with Bernie Grundman behind the Craft Small Batch, is it because Gray didn't want to "do it again", and then, is the 3LP version the same that he did for Analogue Productions?? Just questions I don't have answers to.
The 3LP will be a new mastering most likely, although he may follow his old notes from the 45 which may lie in the tape box now. The reason Grundman is doing the Small Batch instead is probably because he did all the others and because these releases were made at different times, before (most likely) or after the 3LP.

I got the Orpheus Small Batch but Im wondering if I should cancel. With the 3LP set coming out, also AAA (No digital on the album, only the bonus discs) and cheaper I dont know that the Small Batch is so attractive. Hope Ptah on the new Verve series will be available in the EU.
I’m sticking with just the Small Batch. My concern is how decent the quality is on any “new” content as well as whether I’d listen to that new content beyond the first day I get it in. But I get the idea that you get more content for less money by going for the 3LP. There probably isn’t a wrong answer in this case
Good question. There are so few details out about the release thus far. The label hasn't even acknowledged it yet. The only information that's clear is that distributors are making it available for order by retailers in the U.S.
The information on this release stated that it is being pressed at Third Man in Detroit and it’s available at Acoustic Sounds website which doesn’t sell bootlegs. There isn’t much information out there but they can’t be fooling everyone, can they?
@@jazzvinylcollector Target and Amazon have it listed for sale. I am guess that it is Universal resurrecting the “Verve by Request” line to give odd titles the Blue Note Classic treatment.
